As far as I know starship bonus applies only to ships built on that planet. I am not sure though "what" exactly the bonus applies to. I am reasonably sure it is not speed of the ship, which leaves hitpoints and damage. Hopefully someone else can clarify as I'd like to know as well

Thanks spear I guess I'll have to wait till all the civs build a logistics upgrade (and they all seem to since it is a high priority military upgrade). The last game I had 64 logistic points (that is 8 huge hulled ships even by v1.1 standards). Still it is a bit weird to me that these upgrades stack though. It provides a significant adv

Towards the late game after I've been invading other races I have several copies of each super project . For the most part it is not too noticable when it is manufacturing capital or the political capital. However Hyperion logistics upgrade and Hyperion range upgrade stack as well. At the end of my last game on Huge I had 68 logistics points and could go anywhere on the map. Having extra 18 - 24 logistic points really changes the balance of power.

Not entirely sure what you mean engage with a fleet multiple times. As long as you got movement points you should be able to 'initiate' combat, regardless how many fleets you have. You can attack the same target twice. You cannot however combine the two fleets for a singe concerted attack if you have them in the stack. Meaning, suppose you have two maxed out logistics fleets on a single square. If you use one of your fleets from that square to att

I seriously considered quitting UN when they passed that 20% income tax for warring races. Decided instead to go for cultural victory instead though. Kind of nice when the game forces you from your anticipated victory plan.

I both used ctrl + n and got "retired" by my fiance when she needed to use the computer. She felt so bad when she saw that "You've been defeated" screen I just had to milk it for all its worth Good thing I had a save game handy cause that was my first military conquest on tough <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Congrats.gif" border=0 ALIG

The AI can and will surrender to you if they feel they have been defeated, whether you are at war or at peace with them. Because you have the special project that increases your probability of getting a surrender when they are "at peace" with you does not mean they will always surrender to you. I have had a similar situation. I made peace with Altarans after taking over some of their worlds early game. I had the project that increases their chance

Why should Drengin care if you research technological victory and turn into ball of energy? While you are floating around the endless cosmos they can colonize your planets Seriously though Shadowstorm, the one thing I did not like in Civ series (played 1 -3 but not 4 yet) is that the AI treats you like a player. Meaning as soon as you outstri

one advice is to get your economy running. To do that on a Huge galaxy I set up 5-7 planets with VERY high pop. These will be your economic powerhouses and will pay for production of the rest of your empire. Build 2 factories then a couple of farms and 3 entertainment complexes... rest is banks. This should help you stay in the + mid to late game.

Unlike in MOO3 the diplomatic system in GCII actually works. Most of the flavor text and "emphasis" options in MOO3 did not make any difference at all, and the AI had the most annoying habit of declaring war on you for no reason whatsoever. In fact it was kind of random. One turn in MOO3 you can be buddy buddy with everyone and the next turn everyone declares war on you, including your allies. If you reload then they don't declare war. In my opinion the ONLY starting techs that matter are the engine boosting techs for that early mad rush. ALL the other ones are just flavor (arguably even the stellar cartography). This being said, the fact that the Yor have the most starting techs is moot. The argument that they have "the most tech points to spend" does not really matter since, most of the techs you start with you can trade for 50c from minor races 20 turns into the game. The only two abilities they get in their roster tha

FYI If you haven't figured it out already, you can find out the starting locations of all the races by selecting influence overlay on the minimap. If you dont like the starting locations of the races just "reroll" the map with Ctrl+N
