Awwww, I just preordered the downloadable version... guess I dont get the goodies, even though I preordered before Beta 1. :-(

Well, there is an obvious size differential from Fighter -> Frigate -> Cruiser -> Capital Ship (and the flagship is a default capital). I am really personally hoping they add some mammoth type ship. Unfortunatly, there are none in Beta 4 and they have said that ships they made so far are final. So unless they are holding back from us or they are planning an expansion, there will be no colossal ships. The ships look the size they should though... don't know how else to answer your question.
It's not gonna happen any time soon. The game is out in less than a month. Maybe they can look at doing something like that for an expansion. In fact, from what I've seen from Beta, this game has expansion written all over it. I've seen sooo many ideas pitched forward on these forums that I know they have tons they could add to the game.
Actually, there is theorized to be a network of blackholes at are galactic core, all whipping around and orbiting eachother at super fast speeds. Ironically I always thought as a kid that there had to be tons of life and stuff we might find at the galactic core, but I was reading that the closer you get to the galactic core, the more dangerous things get. There is so much gamma radition there that it's impossible for life to exist (or should I say, at least life as we know it). I'm just a bi
Just to give some sort of insight on a "Phasespace Highway", it's not totally impossible for space travel. At least in sci-fi terms, it's highly plausible, and considering we cannot currently move faster than light it could be possible. The basis for this argument is the concept of points in space that have certain focal points, through which to travel in, which is used in another sci-fi game called Freespace. In Freespace, there are "subspace nodes", which are focal points which allow subsp
According to the storyline, the TEC's ships aren't supposed to be bristling with guns. They are traders, not warriors. The Kol is probably some retro-fitted model of a civilian trade ship or something.
Hey guys, not sure how it happened but I just ran into a rather odd bug. I ordered a colony frigate to jump to a planet for colonization from one of my worlds. I looked back a min later to see it hadn't gone far. I zoomed in to see that the ship had left the gravity well and was not in phase space. It was travelling somehow in sublight speed to the other planet (which needless to say took forever). I haven't been able to replicate this bug again, but I was wondering if anyone else ran into this.
Oh God, i can just see it now... a giant Mega Maid arriving from Phase space.
Hey guys, I just thought I'd take a moment to say how great your companies are. Most times forums seemed to be used to present the negative, and rarely do you get a positive. You have provided not only myself but to countless other gamers on here. I cant even think of one other game company that gets so involved with forums. You guys definantly care for your community, and are infact an active part of it. I have never been able to jump on another game's site, type up a post, and by the end of th
Awesome! I can't wait. Either way, good with the game so far guys! It's amazing how the first beta is still better and less buggy than some full retail off the shelf games.
Really, my main thing I would love to see is massive ships. Maybe not a Death Star type thing, but definantly a Super Star Destroyer.
Hey guys, first off to the guys at Stardock & Ironclad, I don't mean to bash you at all with this post. Just some constructive criticism. Great game so far, but there could be more to it. Basically (and I do appologize, I guess I really should wait til later betas to really post this), but my main complaint is that the end game could use some "fluff". It just seems that by the end it becomes a chore in wiping out the last few worlds. Some late game things would be pretty cool, to spice it up
You know what, it's kinda weird. At first I hated the camera controls, but after about an hour of playing the game they became second nature.
Yah, same here they glow. ATI Radeon X800 XL
Well Stardock/Ironclad guys, cool game. Got lots of constructive feedback for you but that can wait until Beta 2, as I know you're mainly looking for graphical bugs. I do have some for you though. First off the game runs great and very fluid with my graphics card at 1280x960 with graphics on full; however, it seems that I crash about 30 min into a game at random. Doesn't seem to correspond to any particular event. When it crashes, the game locks up and another application comes up called "Mi
By the way, have been playing for over an hour and haven't had a crash since. And since then, I have begun to push into the territory of the empire who crossed me previously. While, I have established a good amount of trade with all of the other empires, the one who originally attacked me is now at odds with me again. Unfortunately, my trade lanes go right through enemy territory, so I have begun a tour of duty per-say to open my trade lanes. After a quick fight over an asteroid world, I am now
I would agree Kermut...the controls do seem a bit off to me. I think that the devs should play Homeworld 2 for a couple of minutes and see what they can do to make some sort of parallel system...that is, if they haven't already done so. Darrenl, I think the guys from Ironclad are some of the guys who MADE Homeworld
Kermut, I have to agree with you as well; however, this (I would think at least) should be an incredibly easy program fix. Just add a control option to invert Y axis and invert X axis

Cancel this. I reinstalled the game and rebooted the computer and now it works. So far it's fun I might add.
Here's a more detailed spec through DXDIAG: ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 3/27/2007, 21:54:52 Machine name: BILL Operating System: Windows XP Professional x64 Edition (5.2, Build 3790) Service Pack 1 (3790.srv03_sp1_gdr.060315-1609) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: INTEL_ System Model: Intel BIOS: Default System BIOS
All of the newest video and Windows drivers are installed. I am trying to uninstall and reinstall the game. I will let you know if I have any success.
Sins is currently not running on my build. It beats even the recommended specs. When the game starts up, it goes to black screen and the hard drive pings as if it's loading the game. Within about 5 seconds, the window shrinks itself down to a minimized status on my task bar and the hard drive stops any activity. When I try either clicking on the minimized icon or Alt-Tabbing into it, it opens up fullscreen to a black screen, and then again drops down to minimized status within about a second or
