Yah, thats the hardest part of it, balance. Having the thing make your opponent go "HOLY #@%*&" when it jumps into his/her system, but to make it balanced enough that it doesn't ruin the game.

Realistically, I don't notice any real difference in the races other than cap ship abilities and the research trees. I haven't been any more wealthy playing as the TEC than any other. Vasari don't see super powerful compared to the rest (but I do love tha cannon they got). and the Advent's "psi" powers play just like other races special abilities. This is just me though, I haven't played the game THAT much yet, so who knows if I'm missing something.

Hey guys, this is just an idea I was kicking around in the modding section, but figured it might be interesting to post into general forums as well. Another thing I was also thinking of is (if it's possible to do with the game engine) to have the Mega-ships build as a structure (you gotta figure a ship that size wouldn't fit in a cap ship facility). That would balance it somewhat a little more, in the fact that it can be attacked while under construction. Another thing that would be cool to see is if they have to be built in stages. IE. Stage 1 Building- Builds the ship, upon completion it can move like a normal vessel but only has the stati

Hey there, I was just curious if there was any work being done to add new ships to the game in the form of Juggernaught sized vessels. I was thinking that would be neat to see. Basically a high level research (maybe level 6 or so military with some prereqs). Possibly triple a capital ship's weapons and size, quadruple the armor, and double the shields. Of course to balance this, they should cost somewhere around a superweapon. They could definatly turn the tide of a battle, but by far could not

Why not make superweapons only deployable on border worlds. Or like I said, decrease the PJI's health by a significant amount. Honestly, myself, I'd prefer the original PJI over superweapons any day! I mean jumping a dozen siege frigs through my systems and taking out my homeworld is kinda lame (which I hear wont be a problem with the next patch nerfing the siege frigs). I'm wondering if anyone misses the good ol' days from Beta 2 (I think) when Phase Jump Inhibitors stopped ships dead in their tracks if they came to one of your worlds. No chance of phase jumping out unless they took it out. This would be great if they re-added those (or even a new item like "phase jump interdictor"). Maybe make them a higher research requirement and have less hull strength. I just really miss those guys, and the applications for them were amazing! It would eliminate "phase jump

Ah, I miss the good ol' days of Phase Jump Inhibitors, when they actually did something cool. Anyone remember in Beta when they used to stop any ships from jumping out of the system? That was cool. Infact, I'm gonna make a post on this! :-)

FYI- I ran into a bug regarding the Deliverance cannon. I had 2 firing upon an enemy world. The one fired and the other was lining up for attack. The first cannon converted the world, but the second cannon (I guess having seen that the world was now neutral) just paused. I could not cancel the action. Even when that same world was retaken by the enemy, the cannon still did not fire. I had to scuttle it and rebuild a new one.

Ah yes, my favorite game series of all time... Freespace. I would love a mod for that!! Could you just imagine, sending your Orion and Deimos cruisers in, just to see that your enemy has built a Sathanas Juggernaught? That's one game where you'd definantly need the super large ships in game.

Ok, now I'm really stumped. I've started to delete existing galaxies that came with the game. They are still there in game and they play. I'm running a fresh install of Vista, so there are no other copies of Sins, so It's not like it's grabbing it from anywhere else. EDIT: I was wrong, they are not showing up now. I still dont get why my custom galaxy will still not appear though, it's in the same folder. Still though, even if I open up a stock game galaxy file and save it renamed to anythin

Not appearing in any of them. I thought maybe I messed up the map somehow, so I went in and took a default map and changed it by moving 1 planet, then saved it as Test. Still didn't show up. I am completely stumped.

Ok, I'm a little lost here. I saved the galaxy to the correct folder in the program files/stardock/etc... but it is not showing up in the game. Do I need to point to it somehow?
