Hi guys, I have a MS Wireless Optical Desktop Pro keyboard-and-mouse set-up. Generally, I love them, as they are very ergonomic and don't require cables. I have a problem, though. The "Caps Lock" feature does not seem to work in Gal Civ. I can't capitalize words. And it's not only with GalCiv. I just got Oblivion a few days ago, and it's the same thing. Although the green button on the transmitter pod turns on, capital letters
LOL, sorry GR, I have no idea. The ships just appear in future games when the appropriate tech has been researched. I don't remember doing anything specific to get that result.
Hi guys, Anyone know if there's a file that can be deleted or any other function that allows the user to delete all player-desgined ships ? The reason I'm asking is that I'm an inveterate designer and had so much fun with the shipyard that it's now full of silly designs. I've decided to develop ships with consistent themes, and now want to clean up the shipyard. I've noticed that when I delete/obsolete a design, it comes back in f
I think BladeVenom is right about it being 1000 soldiers, not 1. Stil, Enzo must have been their leader and, as such, the astonishing casualty ratio is to his credit. I also will name a battleship after him !
The GalCiv devs are some of the very best in the business. Anyone disappointed by the level of support for the game, and/or the level of transparency in the patch development/release process obviously have little experience with other game companies...
Fully agree. And it makes sense too. Wouldn't any spacefaring race do that anyway ?
ah... glad to hear (in a way) that it's not just me. Just curious, anyone know if the code can be optimized and, if yes, if Stardock is planning to do so in a later patch ? I'm no programmer but I can run X3 Reunion very smoothly on my computer, and that game is waaay more graphics intensive than GCII. Anyway, great game overall. Just gets a bit annoying when it starts stuttering.
I've noticed that the game starts to chug seriously once the galactic tug-o-war gets going in earnest (once the full galaxy is spoken for and the empires start churning out ships. Great game, but I don't see why the graphics should start to get choppy given the limited eye candy. I run a 3.2 Pentium, with 1gig of RAM, and a FX5950Ultra graphics card. Nothing earthshaking but should be plenty for this game, no ? The pace is fine when I zoom out and see
Thanks, but that's not the case here. I can clearly see the difference between the caps and the smaller case. After all, the game has numerous instances when it uses caps. I'm saying that when, for example, I enter a new ship name, I can't use caps. Same as when I create a race. I'm not sure why that is. My keyboard is an ergonomic MS wireless with all the bell & whistles you can ask for. In every other game or application that I use I never have any t
hi guys, quick question. How do you capitalize text in-game ? When I create anything that requires a name (either a new race or a new ship design) it seems that I can't use capital letters. Although the appropriate keyboard indicator light turns on when I toggle the Caps Lock, the text on-screen remains in lower case. Is that a game bug or do I need to adjust something, either in the game interface or the keyboard settings. thanks
Thank you for all the response gentlemen and see you around the galaxy ! regards and cheers !
I have a mouse wheel and it allows me to zoom in and out. However, although it can be "clicked" it does not work to rotate the view of the starmap. I have found no other way to rotate the view. Is there a way to re-map mouse or keyboard functions ? by the way, can anyone tell me in which forum this thread is ? I can't seem to find it anywhere except under "my posts" thanks and regards,
Sorry for posting on this forum but I'm not sure where else my question belongs. I have an MS Optical Wireless mouse which, while generally great, does not have a middle button. Since a middle button seems to be needed to "tilt" the view, I can't seem to be able to access this function. Is there a workaround ? Or an alternative way of doing it ? Otherwise, congrats to the devs on a great game ! regards,
