So I've played a a few Dark avatar games to the point where the plauge comes into play. I love the mega events, and I've always put all hands on deck to remedy the plauge ASAP. It occured to me the last time I played that it was a galacitc event, so I went to the foreign relations screen, thinking some of thes races 'might' want it. In short I was able to trade the cure for almost every technology, an economic, and research treaty and usually at least a couple hundred duckets from EACH race

There is some great discussion in this thread. Of course I don't agree with all of it, but some great ideas. I think most of us have played a variety of 4X games here, but this is my idea. I think the fun factor of the game takes a hit when too many options are presented to the player. Adding complexity to the game is great for a lot of players, (Like myself.) but what if I don't want to have to worry about decisions like how do my troops attack? Or various ground unit types. Any how what

I kind of assumed the same after the first few starts with DA. SO I started right off the bat spending money on spies, and never sending them out. It seems like as long as I have a surplus of agents, I don't get hammered too hard, and I'm able to nullify them. The key seems to be build them from the start and I just dont send them out. I do like the spies too. I'm eager to see what kinds of nuances and balancing these guys have in store.

First off, I want tot start this post by expressing my gratitude and respect for the developers of both Glactic Civ 2, and Dark Avatar. The level of support, and responsivensess to end user feedback has been unheralded. I am blown away by how much care, and work has been put into tweaking GC2 after it's release. (A stark contrast to Civ 4 for example.) Having worked in the commercial game industry since 93, I know that after a 1.5 to 3 year development cycle the team want's to move on, and
