Tried that, removed the xml file for one of the custom races I had created ingame - but the game still won't recognize the new race.

The guide Cari has is the one I was using; but the problem is that for some reason the game isn't recognizing the mod itself. I have it pointing to the directory (in this case: G:\Program Files (x86)\GalCiv2\Mods\Cursix) but it won't recognize the two custom XML files in the data subfolder (CustomPlanets.xml and the raceconfig) plus, the guide doesn't explain how to get each custom race to USE those planets, and if it does, then I'm clearly blind =| (This is my very first attempt at modding a
Since GC2 is moddable, I was curious if a guide was created for TotA? I'm asking mainly since I want to create my own small mod for a friend of mine and I that has custom planets and two additional races, I have the guide for Dreadlords but it's very brief and doesn't fully explain everything =| Anyone know of a place? (I got this feeling its sitting right under my nose)
Is it at all possible to modify the AI? And if so, get them to USE their super weapons?
Don't worry about them Craig, they are just ungreatful for the amount of hard work that goes into creating a video game, some of these people seem to think that creating a video game only takes a few weeks or months, and that everything works as designed. Sadly, that is not the case. I, for one, am greatful to have this great game - though it has its bugs ingame, and those outside (like ICO) I am not counting that against since IC has provided excellent support, far BETTER than certai
You aren't the only one, a friend of mine and I played a game several days ago - then iconclad went offline, we've yet to be able to log back in since (three days ago now)
Thank you Animage! Now I can get back to making maps using these planets :D And thank you Dan for making this all possible, here, have some Karma =D
Ughs! How the heck did I miss this thread? =\ Ahh, hey Dan... I noticed you made a custom map here.. but in the downthere is no Galaxy Scenario Def file for Galaxy Forge.. so how do we use the new planets and such?
Not all of your online game's are as bad or as lawless as Eve-online. EQ2 has a pretty good control over this, though then again it has a lower population (Eve has something around 20k pop... EQ2 barely has 5k) Even so; I used to play Eve-online, got involved in beta, followed the retail into mining and exploration until just a year ago when I was finally forced to quit due to money. Now-a-days, I play online games with family members (EQ2, CoH) and I would love to return to Eve, but l
Having had to get this computer fixed and have it's OS reinstalled, I went with x64 bit XP so I can use more ram (not touching Vista yet) Anyway, SinS works just fine with it as I played it at a friends house who also use's 64x, however I can't update my game to 1.05 at I'm told the Impulse Client isn't compatible with my OS, thus I can't update. So, how the heck am I to update my game if the Impulse client doesn't 'let' me? Edit: Also, impulse claims SinS isn

I'm male kid, and quite skinny for your information ;) In fact, I've often been called a shrimp. Well, still buying this game ;) Edit: While I do wish game company's would follow SD/IC example, however, didn't someone already mention that not everyone has an internet connection? Which mean's not everyone would be able to download a game, and if there is no disk available, well they are screwed then.
*Looks at Drathkars reply and shakes his head* sad.. well sad... I would continue this debate but it's utter pointless, you have no wish to hear facts and you have no wish to listen. Now, on to the OP's question. Many people refuse to understand that over ninety percent of the world relies heavily on our money and in some case's our military (Japan) What that basically means, is that if the US does fall the world WILL feel it. War's will start for control over the re
(they conveniently included initial marketing folders/beta invites for Red Alert 3 with Kane's Wrath)
At which points the beta's don't even WORK (you can't use them to sign up) The Exp was one thing that EA made me angry at, not only was it's story line dull, but it's execution as well. No challenge in the missions (except in a few, rare, cases) and the AI almost 'never' attacked in most of those missions. I really do hope the next CnC game is better th
Nope, don't hate EA. Never had 'much' of a reason to except when they bought Westwood studios and killed Earth and Beyond(Which, in my opinion, was one of the better MMOs out at the time), but other than that I don't hate them. And last I checked, isn't this type of topic discussion typically not allowed? (I recall the mods locking these types of threads before if memory serves)

If he wants to use cheats, let him. So far I only know of a few trainers, most notably on Cheathappens. However, using the Galaxy Editor and giving yourself more 'resource' rich planets than the AI can work better than using a program that alters game memory.

Thanks Dan. Aye, meant to say Sin's Plus sorry about that, though I am glad to hear you plan on releasing it alone though :) @UEF I have all the files needed as I've been making for awhile now, but to use the new plants from the mod in the forge itself. I remember having to edit a file though don't recall which, nor what to add anymore.
Danman, while I like the mod and the work you've put into it, I do have a question that I hope you don't take offense to. Is there anyway I can just have the planet textures (and other stuff that came with Uzii's mod, like planetary bonuses) and not everything else? Reason I ask is because I've never been a fan of conversation mods, or mods that add new units and such to a game (X3 - Reunion is a prime example and the reason I quickly disliked such mods) Also, in relation to m
I like the idea, but an somewhat angered that you are using other people's images without their consent. The last image is a prime example. Many of those are placed on by other people, much like what the last image says, save the pics and use your own webspace :)
Disproves evolution
Then how do you explain bacteria that has strangely become immune to some forms of antibiotics? Bacteria is evolving and becoming harder to eradicate. Just like how certain disease's that we thought we had killed off many years ago have suddenly evolved and become deadler: So yes, Evolution DOES exist.
