This script doesn't seem to work on 3DS Max 5. I get a syntax error when I try to run the script the first time. -- Syntax error: at ),, expected ] -- In line: texture.v_diffuse=[1.0,1.0,1.0,1.0] -- In file: mzp.run in package C:\3dsmax5\scripts\SINS_Tool.mzp

If we figure out the problems we're having with getting ships to look right ingame, we MAY release a mini-mod of sorts to wet peoples appetites. Don't hold me to this, i'm just saying it's a possibility. Would probably contain only a couple of ships in total.

silverace99: Excellent suggestion. Using genuine diplomatic crafts to "spread culture" as a means to take over enemy planets would be a great way to go. The amount of culture spread shouldn't be particularly fast. A non-defended planet could get captured this way, but as you say, you could possibly have a stacking-effect by having multiple Norway Classes or other diplomatic craft, such as the Galaxy Class. I also think that it should not be an automatic ability, but rather as mentioned an activa
The main reason development is slow atm is because Major Stress was the ONLY person really cappable of doing anything for it, and he found a girlfriend. Now he plays with her instead of computer games. At this point in time it's up to his imcompetent lackeys to pick up the slack and they fell flat on their faces.THIS MOD IS DEAD
Pardon my terrible french, but your royally speaking out of your ass on this one. It just so happens that Major Stress is currently unava

SOASETM: We have plenty of ships already intended for the mod. Problem isn't getting ships for the mod. The problem is that all the ships have to be remapped to use SoaSE's "1 texture map" system. Most of the ships from both SFC and BC use multiple texture maps. EzraeilBeatus: Great job on your first ship model. We could definitely use more compatent modellers on the project, not so much for the modelling abilities since we already have the ships, but mostly those who are able to do map
All this debate about 'to Borg or not to Borg' is really nonsensical until something actually gets accomplished. All I see is crying about stuff that should be added into this mod, and NOTHING has been accomplished so far. So build your Borg and go play with yourslf. Maybe you guys could just get SOMETHING or ANYTHING done for this mod! Talk is cheap. I've seen nothing so far and read a bunch of hubub.
When we have something to show, trust me you'll get to see it. <br

Posted a thread in our forums at the digital-Underground site for those interested in joining the mod team (my post has a list of current available positions). More positions may become available down the line. [link="http://digu.chrisjonesgaming.net/index.php?topic=183.0"]digital-Underground[/link]

Biggest change i'm looking forward to, is the removal of the requirement to copy all the stock textures into the mod folder. There's a lot of stuff currently in our Trek mod that are totally unrelated to Trek itself :P

I have to applaud the level of constructiveness in the OP topic: "Your camera sucks. Fix it!" As others have said, it's more likely a problem on your end rather than the game itself.

Courtesy of our weapons guru, Darkshimmer :D Visible in pic are the standard Federation phasers and pulse phasers. Darkshimmer has told me he has made additional improvements to the look of the weapons effects besides what is shown here. Obviously once we get a Star Trek ship ingame, it will look much better and less out of place :P
The devs could never afford to pay to take the Star Trek game design license away from Bethesda Softworks.
To my knowledge the Star Trek license is owned by CBS/Paramount, and at current there are no Trek games in production. By Bethsoft or anyone else. Due to the failure that is called Legacy, i'm not even sure if Bethsoft still has the license to make Trek games. In any case, our Total Conversion for Sins of a Solar Empire will

Sounds to me like a lot of these changes is stuff that should've been in the original game :P Like for instance having the phase inhibitor work across an entire gravity well (and not just a small limited radius), and the huge penalty towards enemy ships by having a phase inhibitor. 75 second extra charge time before being able to jump should prove for some interesting matches. I look forward to trying the 1.0 version. Downloading now.... // DT

Just want to make something perfectly clear for all to read: There will be no BORG in this mod. As already stated on a number of occasions, balancing the Borg from a gameplay perspective would make them weak and totaly un-canon from what we've seen in the shows/movies. At Wolf 359 a single Cube destroyed 39 Starfleet ships and I don't know how many other ships belonging to other powers such as the Klingons. Thou not seen, Admiral Hansen mentioned asking for help from the Klingons and -p

Here's a nice song that might be cool adding somewhere to the mod (straight from the Kobayashi Maru mod for Bridge Commander): [link="http://www.2shared.com/file/2841526/c086689a/DS9Music.html"]Download[/link] This next one Stress might not care much for thou :D [link="http://www.2shared.com/file/2841539/4922444a/GammaMusic.html"]Download[/link]
Wow, looks like this is going to be an amazing mod! Do you have any use for a composer for this mod or are you looking to just use the standard music files? I have access to a decent sequencer and some good library files, and would be more than willing to work with you guys to produce a custom soundtrack. I've uploaded a small sample of two soase like tracks (I whipped them together in a couple of minutes, so be kind) <a href="http://files.filefront.com/Sins+Like+T
1.) Since when is a pre-release demo necessary? It's not, so quit whining about that. There's already been a plethora of open feedback thanks to the betas, and if you're really up in the air about the game, hold off the whooooole month (OMG ur liek gonna diez...please) for the demo. Simple.
I wasnt whining about it. You really need to learn the definition of what constitutes whining.

Although strictly not a Starfleet/Federation tactic, it's been said that the photon torpedoes used on Starfleet ships are easily capable of destroying an entire city, and I imagine it's capable of devastating an entire planet if given enough time or if configured for a higher yield than conventional photons. Simply make whatever ship/ships capable of orbital bombardment be outfitted with "high yield photons" and it would look canon enough eventhough Starfleet orbital bombardment is not canon :P
A name is in work, but not important right now. We will try to use all 15 slots per faction.. If we cant then that faction will be balanced accordingly. Nothing says we "have" to use all 15 slots. I want them filled more for a variety of forces. There will be no combining factions. I want to see Breen fight Cardassians and Dominion in "what if" scenarios. I also want to see Klingons vs romulans, and fed vs klingon fights. Example Dominion turning the
