If Ironclad hasn't released it yet there's probably good reason. I, for one, do not want a debacle like the [link="http://www.news.com/8301-13860_3-9931343-56.html?part=rss&subj=news&tag=2547-1_3-0-20"]WinXP SP3 mess-up[/link]. -HM

Wait for the game to actually get out in the wild before making too many guesses on what it's like. Also, Brad has said now that Stardock is involved, to expect more of a single player component than was originally mentioned in preview articles. -HM

Might have to wait a bit longer, since it's not really close to summer yet. -HM

Oh, I fully realize it's a bit out there in things to hope for category, but I got a little hopeful the way I read the caption. It would be cool to straight out buy my way to trade ports. Ah well. -HM

The caption on the picture at page 3 is a bit poorly worded (or at least longly worded). Can anyone explain what is making a comeback in version 1.1? Is it the ability to buy and sell research on the Black Market? -HM

The downloads page you are speaking about is here: [link="https://www.sinsofasolarempire.com/update.aspx"]https://www.sinsofasolarempire.com/update.aspx[/link] The "Download Updates" button in Sins simply calls an "Impulse.exe" file in your Sins installation folder. If you do not have Impulse installed, it will call up the web page I listed above. If you do have Impulse installed, then it links to the Impulse executable, and brings that up. As of now you the only opt

MadTim, if you have deleted your settings file, and tried the exe in SinsSyncFix.zip (posted at reply #49), AND still get minidumps, then you should send your minidump file to [email protected]. Your problem is most likely not the sync bug, and hopefully they can help you figure out why you're getting the crash. -HM

95% of people have the sync bug? Please Xboxerdude, just because you say something doesn't make it true. Please back up your "facts" with some proof. I'm not denying that people have this problem. But as I said in an earlier post, if it was that widespread, Ironclad would've seen it before release. And also note that the sync bug has been a problem for some since day one. So if one is seeing new crashes with the 1.04 patch, it's probably something else, and not the sync bug. <b

Thank you Edix. It's reassuring to hear from someone who has the problem, but is handling the issue in a mature way. Yes, it stinks that the problem exists, but if what we want is the problem solved, the best solution is to help Stardock in uncovering it, and not yell and scream "fraud". -HM

carlsagan1, I sympathize that you're having problems, I really do. But if you think a bit, you'll realize that it's clear Ironclad simply didn't encounter this bug in all their years of development, because if they did, they would've fixed it before release. It's obviously trickier than one might initially believe. I don't think any of us can rightly say whether the bug is common or not. All we can say is it happens to some people, and it doesn't happen to others. I have pl

MegaVolt, first, if you think Starcraft networking is always fine, [link="http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&hs=Fhn&q=starcraft+network+problem+battle.net&btnG=Search"]you're sadly mistaken[/link]. Lots of people have complained about lag, a common performance problem with older networking techniques. To insinuate that Starcraft's network code is perfect and every game developer out there should make their code exactly like theirs is beyond a

I think it bears repeating that a minidump is simply a program crash. There are many reasons why you might get it. This particular multiplayer minidump, referred to as "the sync bug", is one of many reasons you might get the error. So just because you are getting a minidump error does not mean that the problem referred to in this thread is YOUR problem. -HM

Overloard: the answer, as Annatar said, is, "Ironclad will release this hotfix as a separate patch [B]once they're sure it does the trick[/B]." -HM

There are some older posts on here about people having Paypal issues. I'm not sure how many did vs. how many didn't, and yes, it's definitely unfortunate that it's the weekend, but I'm sure it'll get fixed up as soon as they get your message. -HM
