If anyone figure out where this digital download key map can be found, let us know. Not with the link or anything, just where to find it for us digital downloaders.
Just read what I said above - you have to click the update button within the game, then you should see a URL for it (along with the URL for the Bonus Pack) on the resulting web page. I can almost understand repeating myself across threads, but within the same thread... -HM
Hollow Man
Then I suppose the people who got the digital download would be complaining, since they would pay an additional $5 for nothing. I don't know what the answer is. -HM
If you got the digital download you should have access to it. At least that's what Stardock says! Every digital download purchase is a Collector's Edition purchase. I guess that's what you get for your extra $5 (since right now the digital download is $45, if I recall, and I paid $40). -HM
Zero 2121, I wouldn't have minded having the tech tree and a card, but I wasn't willing to pay $20 extra for it. Yeah, I know I also get a CD, but that I really don't need. The music, while fine, is not by any means something I need on CD. -HM
Carbon016, My understanding is that if you bought from Stardock, then on the web page, in addition to the Bonus Pack, there is also an additional URL which points to a download for the pdf. The pdf is NOT part of the bonus pack. I cannot verify this because I bought from Best Buy, thus, do not have access to said pdf link. So Carbon016: how did you buy the game? -HM
I only see a manual pdf in the game directory.
You have to use the update button in game to get the pdf. If you bought from Stardock, the resulting web url will give you links to get the pdf. If you bought the regular boxed edition from a store like Best Buy or Gamestop, you will only see a download for the Bonus Pack. -HM
I am a big Stardock fan too. I own GalCiv, GalCiv2, and all the expansions. I wasn't going to buy this game off the bat, but the buzz was good, so I did it, because I do believe Stardock deserves my money. I knew the above with respect the Collector's Edition, but even so, I did not purchase it. The shipping at $10 is way too expensive. For $20 more (I am a box kinda guy) what I get in store I get some music and extra printed materials? It just isn't worth the cash. I woul
A printed keycard only comes with the boxed Special Edition (available from Stardock or Fry's). An electronic/pdf version can be obtained if you bought the game (either electronic only or boxed) from Stardock. If you bought the game from Best Buy, CC, Target, Wal-Mart, Gamestop...you do not get the card (no printed, no electronic). -HM
Amazon.com is now selling the Sins Collector's Edition box as well.
I noticed this yesterday, but it was from a reseller named "Hubbagames", which seemed dicey to me. What's up with that Brad? Not that it matters to me now, since I got mine from Best Buy yesterday. -HM
I got mine at Best Buy last night. They had about a half a dozen. Couldn't find it at first because they put it with the MMORPGs and not with the strategy games. Of course for some stupid reason they have The Sims in strategy, and I admit it would've been preposterous to have "Sins" next to "Sims". -HM
A score of 8 is pretty good. As a number of recent articles have said, most game reviews are over-inflated anyway. 8 tends to mean a very good game that's worth one's time, especially if one is a fan of the genre. I think that's appropriate. Here's my first impressions as a person who a) likes the idea of strategy games but can't play them very well, and b) thinks we need more companies who care like Stardock does: Sins of a Solar Empire is quite daunting. I sort of expecte
My sticker was right above the DVD, affixed to the bottom of the DVD case. -HM
