I updated the beta build today to 0.62[b].010 The way the cameras handles seems to have changed - moving the mouse to the edge of the screen moves the viewing area. Not a bad idea but I found a couple of times that I was going for a menu (research / diplomacy) and found the screen wandering off. Perhaps it was like this before - but I hadn't noticed. I also experienced a couple of bugs it seems. I withdrew all alliance standing with one empire but still seemed to be ge

Hehe ... I've been keeping my eye on this one for some time. The main developer is a genius. He's created something spectacular with this effort. I think the team is quite small though so how long it will be before we see the final result is anybodies guess. The only thing playable at the moment is an Alpha combat prototype that has been put together for test purposes.

Wish I could name fleets. Same here - and better still - design a fleet template and auto replenish the named fleet when units are destroyed. It would take out a large part of the micromanagement IMHO. Wish I could automate the tech tree branches – too many trips back and forth to the tech tree screen. I kind of agree - in as much as I feel I'm rushing back and fo
I know you've said that the decision has been taken Yarlen (I respect that) ... but I just wanted to second what danielost said. This kind of feature would have been very interesting. I would love to see this in a future game .. something like the ship designer in GalCiv2 but with greater flexibility.
#9. Planets are too small. This takes away from the immersion and believability of the game. recommendations: -Planets, asteroids and stars should be increased in scale. Amen ... bigger playing fields / larger planets and roids ... adding to the sense of epic scale.
OK .. for the sake of not creating my own separate thread .. this is a post of my first impressions after playing the BETA. The game was stable and performed well on my system. I'll post the full specs in one of the other threads but in short - I'm running a 2.8 Athlon with 1.2 GB 333mhz memory - a ATI Radeon Pro 9800 and an old Audigy card. Compared to a lot of systems this is old gear but it worked well (albeit with slight crackle in the audio once or twice .. not sure if this is wiri

I may be doing something wrong here - so bear with me .. but when I want to upgrade a ship class - it would be good if I could pick which items I want removed from the current build and then substitute with the upgrades (as opposed to starting the whole build from scratch each time). This would save time. Lovin the game by the way.
