If I remember right the attribute "slotCount" is what modifies fleet capacity consumption, I'm unsure if it will work with a value of 0 or whatever but you could try it, otherwise you could just set it at 1 or 2, and bump up your total capacity maybe? Or leave the current capacity as even ships limited to the grav well need maintenance, crew, food, ammo, reactor fuel, etc.

To build on this, could we make hangars that build frigates/cruisers? Is it possible to make those cruisers/frigates not jump out of the grav well? I'm thinking of making a militia where you can level up a hangar. 2nd level the hangar spawns 5 frigates 2

I can't update the drivers. I go directly to the nvidia site and get what they say I need and it says no updated drivers found. I don't know where to go, if not directly to the source
The game still closes with alt+f4 or task manager, and i've tried disabling everything and using hardware settings, but it still freezes randomly
I've tried several times now to install GalCiv II on my computer, an almost brand-new computer running vista (probably the problem right there) and I can get nearly all of my older games to run on it, just GalCiv II freezes randomly. I can go several turns, colonize, research, all of it, but it will randomly freeze at some point, every time so far. And I can load from an autosave, in which case it continues for a few more turns then freezes, I can repeat that until I win or lose the game but i
I like the idea of all of this, but isn't that basically what planetary defense does? I'm assuming that's basically like fighter squadrons and such, but it seems possible to do something similar as in like orbital defense. Or groundside weapons. Planetary defenses already covers the transport/ground invasion part but possibly add an orbital defenses building? You could have it like the Ion Cannons from C&C3 or Orbital MAC cannons from the Halo series. Of course it would have to have a limit
I like the idea of bombardment, but I don't think it should be a special upgrade. I mean, in the real world, if you have missiles designed to shoot down aircraft, but there is a stationary artillery turret within range, are you going to charge the artillery and shoot it with a pistol? No, you're going to take the rocket and point it in the direction of the artillery. Not guaranteed to hit what you want, but it's taking something in that direction ou
