I noticed now that the fog changes for game to game, sometimes its the rainbow effect and sometimes its just a heavy fog.

I'm having the same graphical glitch when coming back from the empire menu and returning to fog, except for me it happens EVERY TIME I go into the menu and return. The fog I encounter looks a little different then the posted screen shot, I tend to get vertical rainbow lines across the whole screen. I've turned off Advance Lighting and shadows, but still happens. http://pastebin.com/yTpbA2tC

Just to echo what the other said, Civ4 is fantastic and so is the Beyond the Sword expansion. There is a new Civ4 complete edition that includes Civ4 with both expansion as well as Civ4 Colonization all with no DRM for around $40 which is a great deal. I believe the government should focus on long term tax cuts for ALL TAX-payers instead of the this transparent (election time) one shot stimulus tax rebate check. Your missing my point, farmers do have a incentive to grow sugar crops at this moment because of the Government subsidies! Sugar Beets farmers in this area don't need an additional incentives to grow sugar beets MONEY enough of an incentive, They really don't care if it comes from the Government or from unsubsidized pure profit, money is money! So right or wrong there is indeed an incentive for farmers to grow Sugar Beets!

I agree with Brad's article, I don't think ethanol is the way to solve our energy problems. I was just responding to the assumptions that sugar can only be grown in limited areas in the US and that we would need some sort of incentive to get farmers to grow sugar beets, both assumptions are false.

I'd just like to say that where I live there are 3 Sugar Beets plants (Crystal Sugar) within a 100 mile radius of each other, and this is in some of the coldest climates in the US (Eastern North Dakota and Western Minnesota) and it is a very lucrative crop! I'm not sure of the overall market share it has compared to cane sugar but it is definitely a viable crop for the US!

One thing I have found to work well for us is every year when I receive my cost of living/merit raise (anywhere from 1.5% to 3%) I take a large portion of that to invest in to my 457b plan (Government 401k type plan) which is automatically deducted form my pay check.
