a little late on my response, but... yeah i guess im just not used to digital downloads. in fact this is my first one. i was expecting to get the FULL data, ready to install, with or without internet connection, as if i bought the cd. anyways, for $10 it's really not that important. i only got it for the SoA2 mod and i've enjoyed it. i just hope that my digital copy and internet connection will still be available next time i get the urge to play it again.

thanks very much for the help. that's exactly what i was looking for. it's sad that they put so much limitations and restrictions on a product i purchased. pirates can freely use this program any way they choose but stardock/impulse severely restricts a person who paid for the game. this is the first time i bought a game digitally and would be the last. i apologize for the rant. it's just frustrating.

i just purchased the entrenchment mod on impulse. everything seems fine and it automatically upgraded my game... my question is, how can i download it to my hard drive? i would like to have an actual copy without having to rely on impulse.

Yup. More than a few times. I even replaced the English.str in the main installation folder (C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\...) with the modified English.str when all else failed. No luck though. I don't understand how the default names keep showing up when the source is gone. I'm sure I missed something, although I couldn't figure out what it could possibly be.

Ah. Got it. So I have to copy the modified RESEARCHSUBJECT_MAXCAPITALSHIPSTECH0 and the rest of the researchsuubject .entity files to overwrite my current GameInfo mod folder right? Sorry if it sounds like a stupid question but I'm new to this.

Changing the FleetSupplyData was easy enough and I got it to work! I'm just a little confused about the individual research techs. I've been playing SoA2 and just noticed that my fleet supply size doesn't seem to change whether I choose "Small, Medium, or Large Fleet Size" in the options menu. I currently have my settings on Large Fleet Size. However, the maximum supply that I have is only 2000. Shouldn't it be at 2500? Because of this I tried another map on Small Fleet Size and checked the Fleet Research and saw that the maximum supply is also set at 2000.

Thanks. Now how do I change them so that I can pick which names show up in my game? Do I just replace the names in the current .str file? Do I have to replace every single Value from "IDSPlayerAINameTech0"-"IDSPlayerAINameTech9"?

I can't seem to change the race names in-game even though I've changed it in the "Edit\Players\NewPlayer\InGameName" using Galaxy Forge. The AI still shows random names when I load the game. I even tried changing the design name as well but it doesn't work either! I've searched the forum and noticed that other people also have the same probem. How do I fix this? Please help.

I haven't played this game in a while and feel like trying it again with a SoA2 mod. So I re-installed SoaSE and automatically updated it to version 1.13. Does this latest patch have the Bonus Pack that was included with version 1.05 or did I have to install 1.05 first? It's been a while... what extra stuff came with the bonus pack btw?

I just completed my first map and would like to know how to move it to the "Custom Map" section of the game instead of the "Small Scenarios" section. I guess it's not much of a big deal but I would still prefer my map to be in the proper location.
