I wasn't able to find this in the Beta Feedback Roundup so I'll post it here. The Random-Huge galaxy generator seems to be bugged. It constantly creates stars too close to each other, (think overlapping solar systems) and the bug where main-view icons disappear seems to be present in the Random-Huge maps but not in Random-Large or smaller. Sometimes the icons will randomly re-appear after i fiddle with the settings, but will be gone again when I restart (and yes the option box is checked.) I hop

It gets worse than that Vandenburg -- they forgot to mention that the system requirements include an active internet connection. So some people might not be able to play it ATM -- I know I used to have a school-based internet connection to browse the net with, but could only play games at home without 'net access, after all. Oh, and the start-up sequence is horrific -- you're forced to sit through what amounts to adds for Unreal an

Space Rangers 2 is fun, its got a learning curve and its more of an acquired taste but I spent months of my life in that game. Might have to play some tonight in fact.

Yes, the E6600 is a great buy. It can pretty much chug through anything SupCom throws at it (unless you try playing against 7 Supreme AIs on one machine...the game slowed down to about a tenth its normal speed before crashing... ). For me, the on

I just bought COH off of D2D two weeks ago because Steam didn't have it. I wish I could switch it to Steam somehow, since I already use Steam for a bunch of games. Meh.

@Acreo Aeneas Thank you for providing a comparitive Core 2 Duo processor to his current one. His motherboard does in fact support Core 2 Duo processors, the information on his motherboard can be found here: http://support.packardbell.com/uk/item/index.php?i=spec_cuba&ppn=PB34338701 @Jperzio 2 Gigs of the fastest DDR2 memory your computer supports will likely solve your problem, it sounds to me like it is being forced to page the hard-drive when it runs out of memory. whats worst in all of this is that Newegg is absolutely yanking us around on a chain, our bank has recieved no contact from them, yet they have sent us 6 seperate E-mails stating that the bank denied our claims for one reason or another. we've called them 4 times, and nothing has changed. its absolutely incredible, and I payed to have this thing delivered EXPRESS ONE DAY SHIPPING. thats almost 30 fricking dollars DOWN THE DRAIN because of some idiot mistake they're mak

Ok, since your motherboard only has two slots (I should have caught that before) then you will indeed have to trash your old memory sticks and buy two new 1gb ones. You can buy sticks fast than DDR2-667 if you want, but since your motherboard doesn't explicitly support it, you may not get the performance increase you are paying for. ie. it may operate at a lower speed. The page you provided which detailed what was in your computer lists the motherboard, and that motherboard suppports

Order of priority for upgrades(In my own opinion): 1. Ram 2. Processor 3. Monitor 4. Graphics card The mobo you have supports up to 2gbs of Ram so you'll probably wan't to grab either a single 1gb stick or 2 512mb sticks depending on which is cheaper. Given that your motherboard supports up to DDR2-667 I think that's what your system is currently loaded with. Prices for 2 512mb modules runs from ~50usd/25gbp on up, it would help if you could confirm the speed of your Ram

Hello Jperzio, 300 pounds equals roughly 609 dollars so you could upgrade quite a bit. 2 Gigabytes of Ram would probably provide the most noticable performance increase and depending on what type of memory you run it could cost less than a hundred dollars for a another 1gb stick. Do you have just a single 1bg stick in there currently or 2 512mb modules? In the US I know you could get a 22 inch monitor for 260 dollars or so from Acer, not sure exactly what the situation in the

I hope the specifications are lieing to me when I read them, that is it doesn't come with a 6 pin PCI-E connector, which the 8800 needs to work. it supports PCI-E Good for you Schem! you have no idea how much this pisses me off... we did everything perfectly, everything had a place except the extra wires, everything had a labeled and perfectly fitted socket to fit into. everything

There are two levels of modding. Modifiy how the galaxy is generated or modify a specific galaxy. If you want to modify the starting planet/capitalship or whatever on a player by player basis you want to modify a specific galaxy. This is akin to creating a map in other RTS games. This is easily done by generating a basic galaxy and then editing a save game of it which you can make right at the start. You can then load the save game as a map. We'll look into better

Good for you Schem! I just built my own pc and while at times it was a little nerve-wracking in the end it was a great experience and I'm really happy I did it myself. I like the case you chose, I looked at it myself and it was my original choice before I bumped my budget. The E6600 is fast, and has alot of overhead for overclocking. I have mine running at 3.3ghz stable with air cooling(36 celsius load). The WD Raptor is light years faster than my old hd and even though I bough

A note about 300, they were also defending a very narrow passage that meant the enemy could only have a small number of their units in battle at any given time. If a passage is 10 men wide, the enemy can only have ten or so of its men in combat, so what you're doing is negating their superior numbers by turning the larger conflict into a series of smaller force battles. If the Spartans had engaged the Persian invasion force on a

also i think that the fleet flag you know with the number 1 or whatever should be click able so that you know that when you move said fleet it moves together. ships in a fleet would move together ie the cruisers wouldn't jump until the frigates were ready and vise versa.
