So does anyone else here have this game? It's interesting how much promise there is in this game, and how it has changed from the versions presented back in 2004. I like the game (not so much the scary parts) but I think it will be vastly improved when the modding tools are released and the features that were cut (sleeping, vehicles) are fixed. The code and textures for the vehicles and sleeping are largely still there so once the tools are provided their should be a great am

Nah I'd imagine more of a nuisance than actual wall. They'd be time consuming but unless you were at an absolute technological disadvantage I don't see how they could be indestructible. It would be nice to have techs to upgrade the mine's abilities...

They just took artistic license with the background and made it LOOK like a galaxy. They've said that if we really don't like it, we can figure out ourselves how to change it once the game is released.

Well, the key word there is NEARLY. My comp is so slow and old it can't handle dynamic lighting, so its actually easier to see them coming. This summer I will upgrade in time for SOASE! To a new comp with that newfangled ATI R600 card whenever they get around to releasing it...

just drain the antimatter How are they gona do this? home in on it. I hope you mean hone Well I expect when the mines fire on the enemy ship, the ship will use its shields to protect itself right? And shields use anti-matter. So by firing on the enemy ship they are draining its anti-matter, and when the actual battl

STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl is an immersive game, but its heartbreaking how much stuff they cut. And how far they wandered from their original ideas... Plus its scary as hell at times. Nearly pissed my pants, its worse than Doom 3. (That was my totally random plug for a game I just finished playing)

Again there is the turrets option, I mean your basicly talking about mini turrets. Well sort-of, these are one shot, one salvo deals. They don't have shielding. They are disposable deals but I see how they could be seen as turrets. I think they'd be wonderful as an option to defend important installations or jump points. And when I say defend I really mean delay . Because they really won't stop an attack on

Well I could see a couple ways mines would be useful. However I think its important to first define what we are talking about as a "Mine" Q: Is the mine entirely stationary? A: Yes, the mine is stationary capable of only station keeping and aiming movements. Q: Is it a contact mine, or is it ranged? A: I think contact mines would be relatively pointle

Oblivion At 5 fps? just kidding. No, at 640by480 with Medium Settings! This is what my card can do in Oblivion with everything cranked up to max. (Not playable) [URL=http://imageshack.us]<img src="http://img

You just made me feel a lot better about my graphics card (64mb Mobility Radeon 9600) That card won't cut muster. 128MB video card is the minimum. In the past games have said 128mb minimum, and I've gotten by: Half Life 2 Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl X3: Reunion Battlefield 2142 Oblivion etc... So when you say 1

Yeah I saw it in the Recent Posts list. The 27th! I couldn't play Doom3 because I would start sweating and shaking and eventually just wouldn't walk around the dark corner 'cause I KNOW I'm going to get jumped.

I think the TEC will fit my playing style the best so thats why I'm so excited. I love building massive and efficient infrastructures and letting my numbers do the talking and the fighting. (It may also have something do to with my suspect tactical abilities.) You skillz are no match for my uber computer and transphasic mouse clicking finger! <img onload="setImageS
