HAving something like laser 1-5 actually makes sense. If you think about it weapons are created, given a name, improved upon(but still have the same name), and then eventually become outdated by something similar but different. i.e. bow and arrows to crossbows to hand-guns to whatever happens next.

Yeah, it was obviously the Americans with a name like Alan Bradley. Even the other option for human is an American looking dude. I imagine that the USA united earth by making everyone re-create the UN(because it's obvious we hate it) into an institution that looked fair but then we secretly and slowly rose to a position of power and became supreme chancellors or any other "fair" sounding title. LOL!!!

And if you REALLY want to see a difference with your own eyes rather than just through statistics. Let an enemy destroy a fully improved research resource. Then you'll notice a difference!

So I was just thinking, what's the point of selecting a specific planet as one's homeworld? Does that world get any bonuses? Or is there a specific civ bonus for selecting one's best planet to represent themselves? At any rate could someone maybe help me out here?

From what we have mentioned so far it appears creativity allows one's race to randomly discover techs that you cannot get normally through the tech tree and that will not be available to other races either. If we all agree on this lets keep the conversation going and use this as our new starting base. However I'm doing some testing haveing the creativity ability checked but so far the above idea hasn't happened yet :\

Can anyone explain how the creativity bonus works. For the life of me I can not figure this thing out. Thanks

SpathiDiscriminator, nice name however, I can't write a thesis on the speed of light for obvious reasons About going faster than the speed of light though. Things go faster than the speed of light ALL THE TIME! Take a particle that's close to the speed of light then have it enter water instead of open air or space. Then all of a sudden the particle is going faster because the speed of light in water is slower, for obvious reasons. The particle will no longer retain the speed of light, s

I want to point out here that while light speed is called the speed limit of the universe, it's also impossible to reach. Plain and simple, it can't be done. However ask a physicist(my bro has a ph.d in astro-physics) if going faster is possible and they will say no however its not as impossilbe as the speed of light itself. Weird huh? Oh yeah, also say I am going the speed of light and a friend is right next to me who is also going the speed of light, if I were to look at my friend then to me h

oh speaking of the borg though, I'm going to pull a GC:II term here, why didn't anyone use mass drivers against them? You can't shield or adapt to that!! I pretty much hate the "cop out" ending to the borg, fyi

Ok maybe the Ur-Quan, although if you piloted the Chmmr well(like me ) you could have your shields hit it enough before it got through Only the Chenjesu's ball before it breaks could get through and considering the crappy accuracy.......I'm throwing that out True about the laser although not many ships had lasers and you have to exclude the Human laser because it only ever targeted th

On the CHMMR: Even IF the Chmmr is somewhat slow and has a short range gun it doesn't freakin matter. The tractor beam will bring even biggest of ships in range. And then the only weapon that could break through it's perimeter defense were the Khor-Ah blades of ultimate destruction. But if we realize these blades of ultimate destruction are very unrealistic(even for SC:II) then we must come to the logical conclusion that the Chmmr fighting ship is the most awesome thing ever fly the stars a

I'm not talking about anything really complex, I mean, I don't think invasion options are really that hard to figure out. Like(and this is just off the top of my head) a "Blitz" option where your ships maybe lose some offensive ability but if you win the battle you still retain that movement point or something. Does that clear things up?

Ok, you know how when you invade a planet(notice I did not say "system") you get some cool options concerning how much you want to blast the planet to crap and thus the occupying forces that be? Well I was thinking, "Why aren't there any options when, oh say, a fleet of five or more ships attack an enemy ship?" I thought about this and realized there is no good reason as to why this is not a viable option. Does anyone disagree with this or have any tweaks or improvements? Should this idea be sub
