Saven05 also had a great point, I just re-read his statement. Without damage based on hit location (rear sides etc) this whole discussion is meaningless without terrain. Frigates dodging incoming fire in space doesn't make a whole lot of sense unless said projective was ballistic in nature... hmmm I think we could have another discussion regarding realism and I don't want to have that. WHAT IS MORE FUN!?

After reading through almost every post in this thread I have two questions. 1) If this was already discussed what was the verdict? 2) Talking about whether or not ship movement is realistic is irrelevant when making a video game. Realism =! fun. That being said we need to ask ourselves this question and I wish the fonts and colors was working so I could make this huge and highlight it red: Does adding movement to ships make the game more fun? Yes or no questi

Wow I just typed up like a 12 paragraph response and somehow it died. Let me summarize what I just spent 30 minutes writing. Building two fleets is irrelevant because you still have no way to force an engagement. Building a defensive colony on the borders of your space in an attempt to lock down your empire blocking the phase lanes is also stupid because ships can phase right past any defenses you can muster, even if there is a PJI (which is tech 4 and thus worthless). As

Try playing online. Phase gate hop scotch is annoying. We need to increase the phase time so that phasing is kinda a big deal. As it stands now if you micro like a huge pain in the ass you can phase your units all over the map before anyone can touch them. I've been complaining about this for awhile because it takes way too long to get to tech 4 to build the phase jammer, and even then you can't bring it with you. As TEC none of the capital ships can block phase.
3) Phase inhibitors are tech 4. TECH FOUR! Let me say this again... TECH 4. For races not specialized in phase manipulation They are tech 2 for the Vasari, and I'm pretty sure Tech 3 for Advent.
Tech 2 is still too many techs away from whe
Phase Jump Inhibitor, its in the game, and every race has it.
I love how people don't even read the man's post before making a response. He knows. They aren't effective and if you play the game it is easy to see this is the case. I also made a gripe about phase tag in my post. Phasing is way too easy in this game and it makes scouts and siege frigates stupidly powerful.

Hi everyone. I know there's a lot of discussion regarding unit balance but I wanted to post my two cents. Also please only respond if you have 15+ hours of game time. Unit Balance: 1) Siege Frigates: I know there has been a lot of discussion regarding siege frigates but I think it is undeniable that they need to be rebalanced. They are so ridiculously powerful at this point in time. Yes, I understand that they are expensive, but the computer knows and the players know, that the
