I think there's two ways to address rage quitting: 1. punish the quitter 2. remove the reason for quitting I'd go for the second option. Just pit together players of similar rankings (oops, that requires working rankings) so pros will not have to deal with noobs. Other than that, if someone doesn't like player/map/DG X, that someone will quit anyway. E.g. if I don't like 1 map and will always quit when getting it that will amount to 20% disconnects. Don'

Shhh, that must be a feature. Incidentally I'm playing TQ atm (yup, it's more addictive 3 years after its release than DG is today :( ) and I just love how you can spot skeleton with a unique weapon in a mob. On the other hand, there's no variation for the main character in TQ either.
woohoo! Thanks devs for the speedy patch! We appreciate all the work you've done and time put into this.
Speedy patch? Almost two months after the release it is only fixing bugs that shouldn't have been there in the first place. This is a far cry from what we are used to from Stardock (yes, I know it's GPG this time): patches that add stuff (as in new stuff, not just fix stuff that was already in there) to the

Yup, nothing about netcode improvements. "Optimized upstream bandwidth to reduce load. This should help most on 128-Kbs conections." - must be just a balance adjustment?
Quoting bug, reply 8I just played some Oak and I believe that guy get s XP from kills within the ward's range. Can't think of any other reason I was gaining XP while walking around, with no enemy in sight. That would be really strange, can't see that anywhere. kBrain:GetUnitsAroundPoint(categories.HERO, pos, radius, 'Ally') is the relevant call which gets all "close by" heroes, so unless there is a bug in that regar
Q: What are some things YOU (Brad) think Demigod needs to continue being popular long term? A: I’m just speaking for myself here but these are some of the things I’ll be pushing for: More Demigods, more maps. Better community features. Ways to make it a more positive community. Ways for pros to play pros and casual players to play casual players Networking diagnostics built into the game to improve online experience for non-techies.

Bug. It seems that target loosing will get fixed in the first patch, but there's no ETA for it yet. Don't know about QoT, haven't played her in a while, but yes, she seemed "offensively challenged". Was the first DG I played, so it might have been just my lack of experience.

It's also pointless to ask for a game change because you cannot counter a particular strategy ;) I'm just being mean, but this game is all about coming up with strategies and counters of your own, not limiting options or forcing players on a(ny) given path.

Eh, there's already a ton of UI requests out there. No sign if anyone taking them into consideration tho. First patch won't touch the UI and has no ETA. So I wouldn't waste my time picking on the UI for at least another month or two - when they start looking into the next patch.

I still want a useful UI. As it is, it's only useful for telling when your health is low. Very nice to hear about the lowered bandwidth requirement though. The rest should've worked from the start and in no way should have taken more than 1 month (!) to fix.

Still wondering if my ~400kb up will be enough for a 5v5 match.
I know, everything is OP in this game. I mean, how hard is it to comprehend that almost each demigod has a powerful move? How is that OP? Im getting fed up with you people saying "everything is OP /endsaracasm" when ever an OP thread is made. Yes most of the time they are complete bull, but have you guys ever stopped to think - Wait, maybe this game isnt perfectly balanced and there are certain imba's in it like every other
but being able to execute someone who is way behind their towers when no other DG could get them is kinda nuts or when you're behind your towers safe and sound.
Sounds like the very definition of sniping, but hey, what do I know?

21 Replies 67,362 Views

And we can all rejoice, cause UI is not of the list of changes for 1.1, for which there's no ETA anyway. Add the fact that you can't tell how much health a minion has or how much damage it inflicts. And the number of skills that don't show stats. No wonder for the past week I spent more time on this forum than actually playing DG.

This game is started to look plain unfinished. Untested networking, barely workable UI and now abilities that are not even mentioned :( As much as we love you, Stardock, you know you can't keep this up.
