Hi all, My friends and I are all very excited about Sins Rebellion, however one feature we all hate and believe that needs an overhaul is the pirates. There are 8 of us total and we play Sins online. Almost all of the games we have played have been very entertaining, however after the second ever online game we played together with pirates enabled we all came to the conclusion that they require radical change. Pirates at the moment suck in on

Make sure you dont allow the Akkans to auto upgrade their abilities. The armistice is one of those and yes it doesnt help most of the time. Also, make sure you unselect the auto cast ability then it will never be used. As an Akkan levels up there is a point when you have to select armistice because by then everything else is max. My problem with Armistice isnt the premise. If you are losing a fight and want to run away this ability is aweome because it forces the ene
This is an awful idea lol In an RTS you should be able to build your fleet however you want to build it. You just need to learn how to counter 1 ship fleet attacks. It's not that hard once you learn how.
I have been playing for six years, trust me, I know... The point is that we need more pregame options. Setting a small fleet size does nothing except make defense more sustainable agains
They limited the number of ships instead of the number of planets cause it's easier to apply. Give the players a galaxyforge to create their own planets then tell them "only 30 planets per map"? Yeah right. How did that enemy manage to get the 100 illums in the first place? Did you leave it there to build up for half an hour and never bothered to take a look at what it was doing? You have a research that enables yo
Actually large groups of smaller ships are very realistic. They are harder to hit and distribute the firepower more equally. If you lose some of them the impact is less noticable than losing one out of two capships. Large groups of just one shiptype on the other hand tend to have many openings, like being glass cannons (LRMs) or losing their only weapons easily to flak fire (support carriers). Learning how to counter them and how to set up fleets
Oh yes, let's limit the number of ships so everyone is forced to build the same number of the same ships. And lets remove Advent and Vasari, they are too different. Oh, and the TEC rebels, too. They are also too different. If everyone has the same number of ships with the same attributes then it'll be fair! LRM spam can be countered by support carriers, Dunovs or Progenitors prolong the life of your structures and defensive fleet
One more, in addition to the separate thread for allowing users to limit ship types before starting a game. Why does the computer never ever build starbases in the Suns gravity well? The fact that you can build four means that in an epic game it strategically behooves one to do so. Either as TEC for the money or else for the anchor in the defense. Four starbases can hold off two full fleets and titans if the are arranged correctly. But never, in a single game
Ok, wow, love the reactions. Can we discuss not flame? 1. I don't play against other players, dont have the time to do online so all I do is play against the computer. When the computer swarms you with 100+ smaller ships it isnt realistic or fun at all. I am not in it for a fast paced shooter with hundreds of ships blasting each other while I stare at the screen in tactical view. 2. Why not? Seriously if its an option for some of
Whats funny about space ponies is that it was literally the final achievement I could never get in any of the past sins games. And I mean never. In this case it was just during a regular game, haven't tried occupation yet. I am doing so tonight :)
I have noticed that some pirate bases later in the game will have upwards of 200 ships just sitting in the gravity well of their bases. I think these are the leftovers from sucessful raids. Where new raids will always get more ships brought in, these just stay instead of getting reused for the next raid. Sorry if this has already been brought up, -Jason
I have noticed, and it so annoying that once the computer or any other player creates a fleet with about 200 frigates then nothing will stop them. The problem is that with say, 200 illuminators or any other small vessel is that the starbase or anything else can only attack a certain number of targets, no where near close to 200. Which means that a maxed out starbase can be gutted in less time than it takes to lose a single frigate. There should be some
The only thing that can withhold later in the game is the 4 starbases in the Sun gravity well. And even then against two fleets and two titans it was a near thing. The real problem I think for any defenses later in the game, sans mines, is the need for a limit on frigates. There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING, that can stand up to 200+ cobalts or illuminators in one group. Most maxed out starbases last a paltry 30 seconds against that number. Fleet size is one
Oh crap they better not remove my achievements!! I just found Space Ponies dammit!!!
I just finished a 15 hour game, still cant get all of the artifacts in one game L Here are a list of bugs/suggestions if you guys get the chance. I love this game, reminds me of anything David Weber writes. {UI} Unit production sounds need a toggle on/off switch. After about a 100 “The bigger they are the harder they fall” sounds I want to commit suicide. {Gameplay} When the opponents
Hi, Just played Rebellion for the past 40 hours and had one bug that repeatedly occurred. When you win a game, atleast for me, the 'Victory!' sound keeps repeating if you keep playing instead of stopping. In the lower left hand of the screen above the toolbar there is a 'String not found' message. I cannot get it to stop and it has happened for each of the 4 games I have played. Secondly, more of an interface anno
CRAP CRAP CRAP!! Great, now I will DEFINITELY need that stunt double just to make sure I have the 2-3 months to play this new version. I HATE, LOVE, HATE, LOVE you guys :) Thanks for all of the hard work, -Jason
