Cataclysm was considered non canon by Relic IIRC.
Major Stress
As long as we DONT have a spathi "claw on a stick" with a bad Brooklyn accent. Ill be a happy camper. Laugh out loud moments yes. Facepalm moments NO.
All of the canon ships are scaled according to the fleet charts on http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/ . The non-canon units we did a "best guess" as far as scale was concerned. I scaled all of the main units of the mod myself, and i took great care to make sure they matched the fleet charts. There had to be a size cap put on the supersized units like the star bases, and Borg cubes. No unit can be larger than 1500 meters on the x axis (ev
That is because Steam itself updates practically on a daily basis. I would suggest to leave the steam launch out of it. It is obvious that steam needs to run to launch Rebellion. It is probably better to manually start steam so you can chose online, or offline mode. Otherwise that's some damn nice work :)
I kinda saw this ridiculous "debate" coming when these guys opened up their ModDB page. To be brutally honest the Trek mod i planned in 2008 was supposed to be a TOS era Star Fleet Universe mod based on Federation, and Empire. Unfortunately Amarillo Design (the owners of SFB IP) fiercely defends their IP, and that put the project on indefinite hold. They don't care if you don't profit. They WILL sue you if you use anything from Starfleet Battles, or Federation, and Empire in a
It still doesn't address "why" we get the first run crash issues in Entrenchment, Diplomacy, and Rebellion. Even if there are no dev.exe errors. Is it a problem with our mods? or is it a problem with the game itself? I am trying to go through every file to see if there is anything on our end that could cause this.
When you update your mod for the latest version do you use any old files from the previous versions of Sins? When Original Sins, and Entrenchment updated damn near every other week. We literally had to rebuild our mods from scratch each, and every time using the new reference files. If anything at all was left behind from a previous version we would sooner, or later get a crash. It pissed us off to no end when another update happened before we finished updating for the previous versio
SoA 2 isn't the only mod that has the First Run Crash issue. It happens even when there are no Dev.exe issues. It is as if the game doesn't load all of the mod files on first run. We have absolutely NO CLUE why this is happening. We are trying to get the Dev's to look into this. In the mean time just restart with SoA 2 (or any other mod that has the problem) and you should be able to play a full game.
Now you know how we felt when Original Sins was updated every other week. I want to ask you a favor Geo. Can you make a new separate topic for your add-on? The reason being is that so Psy, and Fist0 don't have to answer questions if anything goes wrong with it, and to avoid confusion on here. We don't mind you doing this. In fact we appreciate the enthusiasm. We just want to make sure your add-on is exactly that. An Add-On. Thanks.
As i said in the SoA 2 boards. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having more than one Star Trek mod. There are more than one Star Wars, BSG, and Halo mods. Why not another Trek mod? I am surprised it took this long for another Trek mod to appear! SoA 2 doesn't have the "exclusive" here. We don't view this as competition. I personally view it as "Artistic License". Different artists with different points of view. It is true that our respective mods have totally different visions,
If you are referring to the starbase default weapon, and the TMP era ships. We made the weapon to be as close to the burst phaser you seen in Wrath of Khan. Within our limited particle skills of course. We did use the stock laser particle, but tweaked it. If anyone can make a better version they have yet to step up.
Grrrr sometimes i wish they would STOP updating so i can catch up with TSOP.
There isn't much difference between Diplomacy, and Rebellion. Basically the only reason we are doing Rebellion is for the graphic updates. There are "under the hood" reasons too. What the average player will see is nothing, but shiny graphics. What we see are tons of optimizations, and fix's, and a lot of modding options opened up for us. However everything we are doing for Rebellion could also be done for Trinity at this point in time. Ill ask a question. Do you guys want a S
The answer is simple. Stardock wouldn't do this. It makes no sense, because the games Stardock have made, or published all have had modding in mind. In a hypothetical situation. If they did allow modding in a beta. They would explain in great detail "Why" they allowed it, and "Why" they stopped allowing it. It more than likely would be for very good reasons. It seems one is looking to bait for malicious intent. Where Stardock has proven to be anything BUT malicious. IMO nobody sho
Good to know.
I didn't get a 360 until Mass Effect came out, and i wasn't interested in the PS3 until God of War 3 (mainly the bundled package of the entire GoW series) came out. Mortal Kombat 9, Metal Gear Solid 4, and the HD package helped that decision too. When i found out damn near every game i liked on a 360 could be played better on a PS 3 i sold the 360, and all of the games. I probably wont touch the XBox 1 with a 10 foot pole, and the only reason to play a PS 4 would be Metal Gear
I trust Fist0, and Psychoak's judgement. If they say no. Then the answer is NO. We appreciate the effort, but we will not incorporate the changes into the mod itself. However there is nothing stopping you, or anyone else from using your changes for their own personal use. We have been doing this since 2008, and the way we have been doing it has worked very well for us the last 5 years. You may think it is not fun for you, and that is fine. It is your opinion, but thousands of othe
SSgt I am not working on anything right now. My role in this project has been pretty much adviser, and yay, or nay sayer. Free time is just not there. Geopard that link you posted isnt working for me. If fisto, or psychoak look at it see if its worthy of being an add on.
It may have changed. ill look into it. Hard AI is now getting things way faster than it should.
The way i see it if you want a good space based MMO play Eve Online. More "Mature", and less cartoony.
And as far as i know the extra planet is just a cosmetic thing. You cant make 2 colony's in the same gravity well.
LOL!! There is a reason why autocast is disabled for Armistice. That IS Funny.
The Advent. Especially the Loyalist needed a buff to begin with. So i am not complaining.
Since TSOP rebellion is mainly graphic optimizations i dont see any major issues yet. The changes in 1.5, and DLC is pretty optimized as it is now. So ill be looking for stuff like the issues we had in Trinity.
