Can i use this as a mini-game to determine who gets the most influence over my planets in Sins?
The missile "hits" the target shortly after it is fired, so even if the missile is still flying around, the damage has been done,
*frown* Really? That is disappointing to hear.
I was playing for the first time with the Vasari the other night and noticed two odd things about their missiles. 1) (bug) The missiles, when fired at a target and miss, will start a turn to aim at the target again, but it seems if the angle between the missiles flight vector and the target becomes too great the missile will instantly snap to the attack direction(usually an instant 90 degree turn) and head directly for the target without completing the full turn. 2) If a missile is
rejects the RTS wonk maxim that units should be able to cross a map in under a minute
He's obviously never played Supreme Commander.
Instead, I'm pretty sure it's there so that a user can react when a ship gets injured and pull it out or activate a heal on it.
If that was really the case, shouldn't the mitigation fall off after about 10 seconds? Kind of like, the shields start taking huge damage, so the power core warps up it's output to 150% or something to compensate, wouldn't it then overload and be forced back to normal operation?
So i have a couple of ships, and i have a fleet, i want to join those ships to the fleet i have. At the moment i've noticed i can select the fleet and the ships and just press the "Create fleet" button again, and they will create a new fleet, but i've noticed this causes odd things to occur like a scout ship being assigned the fleet leadership when i have 3 capital ships in there. I have read this post https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?forumid=402&aid=176810 and it explained t
The reason it's not in stores in Australia is because Auran (the AU/NZ publisher) isn't releasing it until April. After that, it should be found anywhere Auran games are sold.
Seems a waste of revenue to me, but i won't pretend to understand business practices so i defer to your judgement. :P
I live in Cairns, Queensland, Australia and i went into the local EB games store to see if they had Sins Of a Solar Empire. Nope, no luck.(although they did have one copy of Galactic Civ 2). The sales clerk informed me that they had never heard of it, it wasn't in any of their computers and apparently a few people in the last week had been asking about it. I did the same thing at another store.. "Game" i think it's called, they had all the big games, Civ4, Call of Duty 4, Crysis, but nope
Most of my friends who have played Sins have done so because "it fell off the back of the truck". What does this mean though?
It means it's not really a "lost sale". They never intended on buying it, and so the sale was never going to occur, hence it could never be lost. But that's just mincing and twisting words and concepts, no doubt the developers/producers/distributors think differently :P Personally, I don't have any need or desire to pirate games unless there is
(I tried using the edit button for my previous post but it wouldn't work, 404 error) Chris Taylor said - "When you look at the sales of really hardcore games like Crysis and you think, "Wow, those games should have sold a lot more," you realize that's probably due in large part to piracy. And you realize that a game like Crysis would have done its true numbers if it had launched on console first." All i have to say is... No.. i didn't buy Crysis for two reasons. 1. Bec
So... no moving turrets.... ever?.. if you say no..i'm going to cry... :'(
but to begin with I could never tell which race I was
The picture in the center bottom gives hints as to your race.
Related question: can you pin ships to the left panel? It seems like you can, but they never appear in the list... I mean having your fleet appear as collapsible panel; like the planets, but as it's own entity (icon being the capital in charge)
Uh.. the fleets do appear as their own collapsable icon in the tree view, they are up t
Oh, another. Option to have the ships do strafing runs or orbits on each other. It looks so boring having 10 frigates just stand there shooting each other. Startrek Armada had that option as a hidden setting you could turn on. It looked really cool to see the different ships circle targets while zapping them and smaller ships doing strafing runs on the bigger ships.
Turrets turning to track targets rather than being static. edit: i mean on capital ships.
It'd be nice to get a little more in-depth and continue the story begun in the game's opening cinematic. More importantly, a good campaign could help new players get over a pretty severe learning curve better than the hopelessly inadequate tutorials. Many of the game's strategic factors such as trade stations, the black market and the details of cultural influence aren't explained very well.
Just like me, it sounds as though he didn't realize there was a manual in the ins
Hover your mouse over the research button It'll list your queue and the current progress.
Thanks. Though the problem i had was if i wanted to cancel it, i would have to spend 30secs, just trying the find the right box to click.
and the manual (manual.pdf) is in your root Sins install folder
Thanks again! I was just using the standard Stardock Control Center, i didn't think to look in the installation folder.
Awesome game, always like the things Stardock publish. I saw Tycho saying it was good on the Penny Arcade site and pretty much bought it there and then. Haven't been playing for long but got a couple of gripes i guess. If this is in the wrong forum or i'm just not getting something right, please tell me. Playing everything on highest detail. 1. The muzzle flashes on capital ships don't match the direction the projectiles come out 2. It would be cool if the ships slid out of
Yeah that would be cool sept I hate CC's so i dont use them. Makes it kinda hard when the only way you can pay is via CC.
You can pay for it with PayPal, by linking your Debit Card to PayPal(PayPal Australia now lets you pay with accounts from most major banks), you can pay directly from your savings(or whatever account you want)
