Dont even think about mixing Star Wars in with this. Star Wars is a totally different deal. Its stats, and trek stats dont match up because they are two different genres. With two different concepts, and two different techs. I like trek, SW, B5, Stargate etc, etc., but not all mixed together in one package.
100% agreement on that

I think it's a known issue resulting from dynamic movement. Not sure if it was fixed. It seems like you're having it happen to you a lot more often than it happened to me though...weird.

Well I'm also playing on hard, which I think Stress mentioned you pretty much had to because it makes the AI "get after it" so to speak (I don't recommend playing as Feds vs. Klingons on hard yet unless you like a real challenge though). So I'm successfully finishing games with some pretty intense fights. The AI teams up very well at this difficulty too. There were multiple times I'd find myself facing two and three pronged attacks from the feds against weak points in my def

I've had issues with crashes in mixed fed and klingon games, and not really found a resolution. It also seems to be somewhat random, and does not repeat. For instance, I'll crash to desktop when I push a certain button, or for no apparent reason at all, but upon reloading, it does not crash again at that point. In fact, it's never crashed at the same place twice for me at all. So my "solution" was to just set the autosave time to be relatively frequently, like 3-4 minu

I don't know much about what helps to avoid these crashes, but the posts about the extra entity files in the manifest from vanilla and the fed AI seems to be worth giving more consideration to.

Downloading the update now. It's probably already known, but you have to be a member to get the new file. I have no problem registering with ModDB, as it takes all of 20 seconds, but some may have an issue with it. So I dunno if someone wants to put up a mirror or something. At any rate, keep up the great work!

If you're still interested, this seems to cover MD5 checksums and give the link to the freeware. Seems as easy as installing a small utility that has context menu checking. Archive the mod, create the checksum, and each time it's downloaded just check to see that they match. http://www.wheatworks.com/how_to_use_md5_checksums.htm

One thing I think I'd like to see, and I'll try looking into it myself, is cap ship style deaths for more ship classes. I could see it getting excessive if it was for all ship types, but I for one love that extended roll away with explosions before they finally pop. Any thoughts?

I also noticed there was music from The Dark Knight, which actually fit really well. Anway, no one's posted any eye candy yet for everyone else to see...so, here ya' go. pic 1 pic 2 pic 3 pic 4 <a

Actually, I really like Mooster's idea of posting testing videos. I've been following this mod practically since its inception, and I would love to see what some of the new progress looks like. As long as it doesn't interfere with what you guys are doing, or is against anyone's wishes of course.

I have to be the voice of dissent here, starbase mobility needs to be altered somehow, as do build times and upgrade times. I dominated 3 hard AI's my first run through (I did have two near useless normal AI's) by simply scouting, jumping to the side of the well opposite the defending fleet, and building a starbase right in their well. The base only takes about a minute to build, and upgrades are almost as fast. By the time the enemy fleet reaches you the base is built and u

Actually such a thing as the original poster said exists and is in early testing phases, but it isn't a metal, it's a liquid compound of nano-particles that becomes rigid under shearing force (forces causing disturbances or sloshing of the liquid). Liquid Armor

Oh, and at donnor11...I don't mean to shoot you down or anything, but there's an overwhelming amount of evidence for the big bang. The term big bang was also an intentional misnomer from a certain physicist who didn't like the idea, and prefered a steady state (static and unchanging) view of the universe. So the big bang was not an explosion in any sense of the word, but a literal outward expansion of space itself. Proof for anything usually consists of repe

Haha, no problem. I understand what you mean about the somewhat dubious nature of most information coming straight from the internet. Interestingly though, Wikipedia's pure science articles have actually been shown to be more accurate than the Encyclopedia Britannica. A lot of their explanations on math topics are easier to understand than the versions in my textbooks!

Ok, being sick on my Saturday night, I figured I'd finally respond to this. I've been watching it for quite a while without saying much, but I kinda' feel like I should at this point. It may also be because I'm bored as hell. First off, I'm going to show from firmly established (by that I mean experimentally verified) evidence that all this black hole creation stuff at the LHC cannot happen. Just in case you guys don't trust me, I'm an astrophysics student a
