first its Iron Clad not Stardock. Stardock is just the publisher. But you are right there is alot of lagg and dropped games with only 100 people on. it is pretty sad SIns could have such a large online community but small problems slowly widdled it down to the size it is today.

or if you are TEC you can get timed explosives on your scouts and take out his labs then lagh at him when he doenst have enough money to rebuild them.
8. Do you I.C. care, are you still on the job, or on the next project to make an incredibly unbalanced game, and take our money.
Dark you shouldnt be insulting the devs like this they are trying hard. right now they have an expansion coming and they have hundreds of posts flamingabout different balance issues. They have to test if the complaints are actually problems and then fix them it isnt an easy process. if they listened to every little balance complaint they
Lol, I only advise using the Akkan for the more experienced player. It's lack of firepower compared to the marza and lack of any colonize bonus until level 2 (0,1,2 free mines is bogus). Basically, with the Akkan you need to know how to use Ion bolt and somehow make it to level 6. If this cap dies before level 6, you're screwed. If you make it to level 6. You're golden.
i like the akkan too because of ion bolt and it also it is cheaper because you dont need to buy as ma

there has been a number of 3v7 unfair ai comp stomps online. I personally do not like comp stomps because they take far too long to complete and even though it is 3v7 it is too boring becuse hte ai is too predicitble.

it all depends astax if you have ceiloes you can use the second ability (its name escapes me right now) 40% dmg increase takes down a SB pretty quickly with anything you have.

i like your ideas amish. lrfs in general need to have a hp nerf. long rang units should not be the tanks in hte battlefield. They should deal heavy dmg but be very weak and easy to take out.

17 Replies 56,933 Views

it doenst matter the range lrms do tons of dmg to lfs and lfs even when in range cant take down lrms fast enough. to kill lrms you need about double the coblats or any other lf.

really i think what deceiver and i are trying to say, is by itself the illusion ability is fine it helps the illum scale to late game. (Even though it is better than HCs late game without the ability). The real problem is the lack of usefullness of the other lrf abilites. the aoe attaks do next to no dmg to anything within its range. if you had 100 assilents focusfiering a SB with charged missiles illums nearby the SB probably wouldnt even have lost all of their sheilds when the SB dies.

he wasnt abusing repulse or mass disorient thats the problem. My donovs were using EMP bomb so his SB and gardians didnt have the AM to abuse it. he used mass idsorient 1 time and repulse he never fully got off. ANd about making my kodies attack the real illums when i have 80 illums focus fiering my caps i needed to micro my donovs like crap i didnt have time to set individule targets for the kodies. if i spent 5 secs assigning targets my caps would be almost dead. what tipped the bat
Second, any SB can screw an Orky pretty well, and when it is supported by repair bays and hoshikos (which can be continuously pumped out of nearby factories) then a 4-def 3-att orky will die before the other has lost a third of its life.
if they are pumping out ships but an orky will take down a fully upgraded SB even if it has repairs just because hte repairs run out of AM quickly. the only way a normal SB will take down an orky is if it has alot of turrets around it

he used mass disorient once and repulse once then i EMP bombed him he didnt have the AM to do it again. he may have lost only 10 or less illums, thats how pathetic it is. He had no weapon upgrades on his SB, only defence, he also had culture upgrades. so he didnt have many slots left.

i remeber that game deceiver. Sunny is such a bully. I would have won because my fleet was better but he lied about his SB and he had mass disorentation. but really my fleet was far larger for fleet points and deceivers was probably bigger than his as well. but he destroyed both of our fleets. With illusions it displayed him as having 178 illums. now illusion needs to be looked at. the fake illums should NOT show up in the empire tree or the unit count from the overveiw of the

you are right cykur. probably you would be caught off gaurd, but if your scout passes through his HW and he has 10+ scouts there you should be worried and start planning ahead. Usually as cykur siad you wont get enough money for a SB and assilnets. it depends on the nutrals. some times i have been able to get carriers out and rush a SB onto an enemys HW and still feed an ally. My suggestion only works if you have alot of nutrals. But pretty much dont listen to my advice

12 Replies 8,135 Views

with nanoes and assilents before all the scouts take out your assilents you will be able to scare his marza away then you go to his HW where you have a SB almost built. unless he starts building lrms he will not be able to take down you SB with an early scout rush. If you dont want to be offencive you could also build a SB at your HW but then you wont be able to attack him as easily. its up to you.
Specificially I'm reffering to the situation where a TEC player that starts 2-3 jumps away and sends his Mazda right to your homeworld and asteroid with a swarm of scouts and immediately starts bombing the hell out of things wrecking your economy.
really if you are this close to the enemy you should be rushing. Vasari have a very strong early game if you rush with assiletns when you get to his HW if you see scouts just build a SB. his scouts will not kill the SB. <

12 Replies 8,135 Views

but if you have built 150 scouts you just spent 30,000 creds so it should be able to take out a building SB. playing as advent i have had someone build a SB in my grav well, when he started i had 4 illums 2 disciples and a progen. he also had 10+ assilents. with only 2 factories i was able to kill the SB and his fleet. when his SB built it only had 1k hp left and i didnt lose a single illum from the SB. The vasari SB is far from OP, it may be very strong early game but late ga

first try to get carriers with fighters then you can lagh at his scouts, and if you have the econ build a SB at his HW or yours depending on how badly he is beating your fleet. Scouts will not be able to take down a building SB unless he has hundreds of htem because they do poor dmg to SBs. if you scout ahead and see him getting alot of scouts tech up to carrirers as quickly as you can.

12 Replies 8,135 Views

i know pb i like the vasari SB as is it does not need to be changed. it takes rediculously long to build so unless you have overseers it will die in the construction process.

167 Replies 72,588 Views

well amish and i tested illums vs kodies, 12 kodies vs 20 illums without any upgrades to the illums kodies won with 4 left. Then the suprising part with upgrades to the illums just enough to balance out the fact that illums are teir 3 and kodies are teir 5. for the second test illums won with 7 left. Now kodies are the strongest starting HC and with a couple upgrades to illums they lose to what they "Counter" this is pretty pathetic <
