I don't know if I am lame for suggesting this since no one has ever really mentioned it but here goes anyway. I would really love it if I were able to subdivide my fleet into several groups, perhaps with corresponding buttons when you have that fleet selected. I know you can bind up to 10 groups using the ctrl+# but those are generally used to bind full fleets (at least for me). What I'm getting at is that as the fleets get numerous and large, it would be nice to be able to

Write a space musical and send them free tickets. :P
Haven't changed a setting since day 1 - checked they are still all same. No computer problems at all. Game runs great like it always has just lost the explosions of capital ships :S
Have had game since release day and I've been playing away - I find it repeatedly satisfying when capital ships exploded with their massive kaboom. My wife was watching a game the other night that I had started and I said "watch this thing explode".... and to my disappointment no explosion animation. In fact, I haven't seen one since - everytime a capital ship explodes now it just kinda disappears. Any idea why? I haven't changed any settings and my fights were just a few ships so it wasn't
Running from Brittany Spears. Lord knows I want to. P.S. The ship with the crazy people tried to listen to her music.
Tbh I like that the AI is 'smart' enough to take advantage of this but I also agree, it's really silly that they can fly 20 siege units past maxed out defenses and just nuke the planet. I've suggested already that defensive structures could have something like a point defense quality where they are effectively 'shooting down' the missiles, minimizing those that dmg the surface (i.e. they reduce siege dmg alot) OR a mechanic where an idle siege ship takes additional dmg since its basically a sit
It would be great to name fleets - not only to add a 'personal touch' option but they could then add an option to frigate / capital ship factories where you auto-assign them to each fleet by name. Would give so much more control while still maintaining the concept of not having to manually add every ship to a fleet. Even if the default names were just Fleet-1 etc. for those who don't like to name anything. But being able to actually designate where the ships auto-assign to after they
That's one yummy looking cookie!
Thank god we made it out of the dark ages.
I live in a small canadian town myself. I really do suggest just downloading it via stardock. It's fast and easy and saves so much grief. Dealing with game retailers in Canada is always a headache beyond all belief.
You can name planets and capital ships but frigates and cruisers are just minions in your space army of doom. (Believe me, I love to name things too but you'll be glad its limited to your flagships and planets). Customization in terms of armor and weapons stems more from research / auto upgrading (since its all in real time). In other words you don't research components and customize / build your ships like you would in say GalCiv2 but upgrading does exist. Customization comments can
BONUSES!
...To all the people discarding opinions as "halo kiddies" and "looking for generic rts #40125", so what? They are all customers, they all bought the game, they all have different opinions. Nobody told them what Sins would be like when they bought it. Don't let them change the game from what it was created to be, but don't be the typical dogmatic fanboi assholes that plague so many developer forums. If there is an option that makes them happy and doesn't change anything for you,
Are you sure you are looking at the list of games. I was a bit thrown when i logged in also. First of all, I clicked Multiplayer which is actually for LAN. Hehe! Sounds like you avoided that one. But once you enter your username and password in the ICO login you don't go right to the games list - you have a list of different player names (empty until you create some) that you select from before you proceed to the list of live games. While it seems clear now, when I first logged in I was co
Passion Pink stars! How bout a few with some glitterz! =)
Obviously this can depend on a number of things but I'll say that I downloaded mine using cable internet on release day and I had it purchased, DLed and installed in about an hour. It's far far faster than anything like direct2drive, at least in my experience.
There was already a post requesting this. ...Nah, I'm just messing with you :P
Describing the game as an RTS is pretty misleading though. It's like telling someone that WWW Link is a 4X game.
Are people walking into a store, seeing the letters RTS on the box and just slapping down some cash hoping to play generic space RTS #129425? There's words on the back too! I mean honestly, I'm not trying to be cheeky but I keep reading these same comments.
the op is one crazy son of a something a rather.. games r incredibly slow already. any slower and it would be torture. what the devs need to do is make the fast option even faster.
I think you got separated from your herd little fella! >>> [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?aid=175501#1448083"]This game takes too long[/link] :P
Some people seem to completely get what the OP is asking while others don't. The idea here is yes you can have a lengthy game by having a huge system but your research is still done quickly relative to the exploration of the system so a good chunk of the game length is really tactical rather than developmental. The option to have research (even building structures for that matter) take a fair bit longer so it paces well with the 4X elements wouldn't necessarily make it a 'T
just play 1v1's. they dont take anywhere near as long. 2v2 and up r just too long to finish. if only i had the time to play 6 hour games xd. cant wait till im retired.
Maybe they'll patch some sort of option where you can save your game and then you can play longer games without having to do it all in one sitting. That'd be a sweet feature. Oh wait, what's this save button do? ....
Curious how I came off as lacking patience. Was trying to open a dialog. And does a real time game with strategy automatically make it an RTS? Logically it would, but the RTS is a defined genre, with more then just strategy and the gameplay being real time. Obviously those are key pre-reqs. RTT's were dubbed for a long time as RTSs. Basically any Real time game with strategy/tactical elements is automatically assumed to be a RTS. I don't know if that
Considering that its been spoken about and marketed as a game that has elements of both RTS and 4x strategy games, I can't really fathom how someone would feel tricked/misled ('gypped' is racial slur btw, not many seem to know) that it's not a typical rts game. You'd have to have literally had no idea about the game and bought it blindfolded to be surprised by this. :P
I've had similar experiences and simply purchased it directly from Stardock. I setup an account, DLed the client, DLed the game and had it up and running all in about an hour. You can have a hard copy shipped to you as well. Frankly the extra shipping cost is worth me not giving that joke of a retailer any business.
You can always buy crystal off the black market. Since your credits typically roll in a lot faster to start and the market hasn't been used much (if at all) you can often nab a bit of crystal for a neglible cost.
