Had my first lockup of the game yesterday. It happened after approx 3 hours of play time in a large random galaxy. Sound locked and it HARD locked my system, no error messages were present, nor was there any Windows error information on the reboot, to make sure I removed my Creative drivers and reinstalled using the latest web release in safe mode. I have not tried playing the game since, have not had the time. System spec P4 935 D 3.2x2 EVGA 122-CK-NF68-T1 4 gig A-Data P

Thanks for the update, I have not been able to play the game since last year, due to new job and hours involved. I did not see the posts anouching this so I aploigize for the rough wording. To be quite honest I did not anticapte the release being this soon. I can wait until the final is released, again thanks for the update Sincerely Glenn A Nicholson
Then I muat be imaging the fact that no matter what type of game I play, if it has multible galaxies, I cannot see any ships, or structures. I have saved games, that at least on my system do it everytime now. Have ran into a issue I have not seen in the forums. When entering the game, does not matter if it is single player multiplayer or IronClad. My home planet is ghosted, can see only the astroids no ships, If I click on a ship, it displays it's path, but no textures, etc. If I go and explore a different planet I can see my ships until the background switch's to either a light blue or red, then all icons for any building or ship disappears. I do have 2 saved games that I did save as soon as
I was playing a 2 player game and winning for a change, when the game shut down and I recieved a crash message. It had an option to send the log to Stardock which I did, but there is NO record of the crash or any log in the game directory or in the save game directory. Is this normal? How do I know if you got the information about the crash? Glenn
No I do not want or do very easy, I am comparing prepatch AI activity to post patch. On my games easy now is equal to the activity I was getting at the medium setting. As far as hitting the AI's home system, NOT, did not even get close to it's home system. At least I never saw the system in my exploration. I agree with the comment that anything over 9 research stations on the civilian side is useless. Never even got that high prepatch on any game on the Civilian side of the research. Wh
First off, I did not read every note in the change log, since it was longer than I thought it would be. So, saying that, I have played 3 games, all on easy, large galaxy, with only 3 other npc races included. All three games I was attacked within 10 mins of starting the game, not just a single planet attack but up to 3 of my planet/roids were attacked. The game has lost what fun it had, I am not playing the slow do as many upgrades to everything I can. I had 6 colonies in each of the g
Well, it would have been nice to have that mentioned. Since, with the prior build they automaticly showed up at the start of the game. Glenn Did you read the change log? <IMG id=ImageResize_Image_4 src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smi

Ok, just updated to the new patch, started new game, selected to include capital ships. Started game, no capital ships were included into the start. Also, did you all disable custom galaxies??? When I tried to create one, it came up with a message stating that the custom galaxies were disabled, and presented the tutorial maps instead. Why would custom galaxies be disabled?? Glenn
Is this correct, others that do not purchase via TotalGaming will be excluded? No, not sure how you got that. Here's how it goes: If you preorder "normally", you are granted beta access at the beginning of the next beta phase (if you missed the window of the last one, that is). So if you preorder now via normal purchase, you'll be granted access when beta 3 begins. If you preorder with TGN tokens, you
BIG question, I looked through the FAQ and the only reference to the tokens was to say that you would have immediate access to beta's. Ok, now I just read in 2 posts here in the forum that ONLY person's that purchased the pre-order via TotalGaming would have access to beta 3. Is this correct, others that do not purchase via TotalGaming will be excluded? I am hoping someone got thier information screwed up, becauxe quite honestly, sinse I did not see that restriction in either the Sales e
Where the patch notes for beta 3 listed? Have not found a link or other refrence to it's location. Thanks Glenn
Thanks for all the tips, I did not know that the repair bays had such a large role in the game as far as repairs go. Have been out of town for awhile, but will try that approch. As far as turtle goes, I always start an RTS that way, gives me a very good Idea of what the AI is going to do. Like I mentioned before, never have run into a game that the AI was as aggresive as this one. Balance is a 2 edged sword, too aggressive in single player and peeps who would rather enjoy the game than
Thanks for your feedback Glenn. These details are helpful in BETA. You are right, the difference between easy and normal is minimal at the momment, as the AI is still being refined. Do you mind if I ask what you were spending your money on in your second game? Also, how were your resources and how many planets did you have when the large force of(75/10/10) phased in? What kind of features other than combat, exploration, colonization, etc would you like to see in the ga
I hate to say it, but it is not ingenious. It only works if you have explored and colonized quite few systems, if you haven't you loss the game. I just played one that did just that. Glenn
Well all, you can flame me after I am done, but here it is In my opion, the game stinks. Ok, now my opservasions. I have played every 2x,3x and 4x space sims that have been released. Since oohhhhh back in 90, this one is not fun to play, yes I know that things are limited but, played a game, small galaxy, NO other players. After a long while, which unless you want to explore as fast as possible, which in this game I did. my 10th system I was greated by 20 pirate corsairs, and at least 10
Pirates, man are they too aggressive as well as much harder than the races you are fighting. Entered a planetary area, 4 corsairs were there as well as 6 other types of ships, after defeating them, in less than 5 mins they were back with 2 corsiars and 2 siege ships. Not that I do not like a challenge but heck, had not even been able to research capital ships or use them. Does not make the game fun to have your planet under siege in less than 5 mins game time. This was with the other
Have noticed that the AI controlled races seem to have a larger and faster build even at the easy setting. By this I mean I can send my fleet of 6 frigates and my battleship to explore, after 2 or 3 systems, I run into one of the AI players. They have at least 10 light frigites if not more, and seem to get them to the battle much faster than I can. Quite honestly this is not fun, the farthest I have gotten into the game is about 2 hours by this time, the AI races completly wipe me off the
As I have only played beta 2 for a total of 3 hours, in my opion the combat sucked. Very slow and the combat AI when you first drop into a system is to attack anything and do it individually. Also, have noticed if you decide to build your race instead of exploring the first 3 or 4 dozen turns, the bounty on your head goes thourgh the roof, and if you hit any system with another AI in it, they have a minium of 10 units there to nail you as well as getting replacements to the battle faster t
