This game really is tuned to run on the lowest settings... I'm running it on 128mb Intel ONBOARD video and I was overwhelmed at how smooth its running, even at 1400x900 resolution and most of the details turned up fairly high. I guess I can delay getting a new card...
Buzzard02
Yeah, i've figured as much... I've posted an article and contacted support but haven't heard back yet. Its a problem with sin.sdc restarting after having downloaded and timing out.
And since I already spent about $50 bucks on the game im not about to go out and purchase it in material form. I already bought the product, I shouldn't have to resort to that.
Are there any plans to allow downloads of SoaSE outside of SDC's grasp? For example, fileplanet, etc. I don't think i'm alone in people who want to play the game but for strange reasons SDC is simply not working as it should. Granted, that would shift the focus of serial keys to an integrated installation of the game or other methods, but I feel that releasing Sins on SDC alone was a mistake and a lot of problems could be resolved if there were alternative means...
No never mind, mine is a little different...
Does yours download then restart and die? If so, I have the exact problem which i've reported in another post. I can't figure it out, and i've tried just about everything. I contacted last night and I haven't heard back yet... Is anyone else getting this problem because I pre-ordered this and i'm slightly pissed I can't even install it.
Alright, so i've let it run for like the past five hours and of course it never worked itself out. It never gave a time out message, but it just stopped/froze while still acting like it was working. So, I never got a mini-dump error message showing a time-out, it just didn't do anything for like 4 hours. I'm trying to get creative... I went into the Temp directory and am sorta screwing around with the seemingly complete but stubborn .sdc file in winrar. If I have any luck i'll report...
Forgot to mention that, but i've already done it, a couple of times
In case of a miracle im about 3/4 done at the moment on my fourth download. My speed it back up a little bit to 125-150 KB/sec. We'll see in a little while!
I'm running 2.52 of Stardock on Windows XP fully updated and my computer has full privileges. I AM on a student network at college, but I don't think that it is interfering. I've used stardock before with GalCiv2 and everything worked fine, as have most applications of the like. When using download and archive, it seems as though the entire game downloads, then reverts/restarts and freezes. I haven't had any problems with the download stopping in the middle, but it always freezes
I've downloaded the game about three times now and it keeps failing. It installs all the way to 100% but then restarts and freezes with sin.sdc I was already seriously pissed off that I didn't get my serial code until about 12:30 and now the damned stardock central is screwing over my download. I've restarted my computer every time and retried with no luck, and I found somewhere that someone suggested choosing archive + download but that doesn't work either... I'm seriously about to lose it. HE
