If you haven't done so already, visit Board Game Geek. There is an incredible amount of information available on nearly any game you can imagine. All the reviews and other content are done by users. If you set up a profile, you can ask your question there and receive a lot of good advice quickly. That or search the forums and game database for recommendations. I tend to not play economic games, so no advice to give there. <a title="Board Game Geek" href="http://www.boardgamegeek.com"

Referring to #1: I think I have also seen autopilot "disabling" behavior similar to that described above. I witness it regularly when I autopilot ships to a sector already containing a ship. If I move the ship in the destination sector before the autopilot ship arrives, the autopilot (usually or always) is cancelled. Also noticed that constructors disable autopilot if a resource goes from being available to being mined during the ship's autopilot trip like denyasis described. I

I got another CTD and e-mailed gc2bugsstardock.com a zip file with the savegame, debug, and smart exception .cra file. The subject heading is DA Diplomacy Screen CTD savegame, SE, and debug .

I do have a save from right before the CTD but I could not replicate the crash. This was my ~fourth CTD while viewing the various tabbed portions of the diplomacy screen. I believe most crashes occurred while clicking on the "military", "society", or "misc" tabs of the stats submenu of the diplomacy folder. My settings are: manual pick gigantic galaxy 10 races normal technology rate advanced CPU algorithms on influence, diplomatic, and technology victory o

I reinstalled DA from the CD and updated to the most current version via Stardock Central and have not have any CTD issues since. I have still found the debug messages like these in the debug file: Debug Message: InvasionWnd: Cannot find OBJID Invasion_Right_Def_Title Debug Message: InvasionWnd: Cannot find OBJID Invasion_Left_Def_Title Debug Message: InvasionWnd: Cannot find OBJID Invasion_Progress_Image Debug Message: InvasionWnd: Cannot find OBJID Invasion_Right_Def_V

I experienced my first DL/DA CTD ever today and thought I would post the debug file. I was viewing the diplomacy screen and tried to switch to the treaties tab when it happened. The Infamous Reno, I run an Intel Celeron 2.4 Ghz processor, 1024 mb RAM, 160 gig 7200 rpm hard drive, and a PCI GeForce FX 5500 (256mb DDR) graphics card from 3D Fuzion. Kryo mentioned the GeForce FX 5500 above. I also keep my virtual memory cranked up. I keep most of the graphics set to fairly high quality with most of the textures active. Currently, I'm playing the unmodded new DA release on a gigantic map with 9 opponents, common planets, and the AI cranked up to the highest setting

Kryo, I finally managed to replicate the false Earth map again. Here's what I observed: I logged into the metaverse and started a new game of DA v1.50 with the Terrans four times today. Each time I logged into the metaverse the false Earth tile map would display whenever I viewed Earth. This seemed to have no functional impairment of the gameplay, it was just aesthetically unpleasing. When I saved the game, exited DA, restarted DA, and reloaded the save file, the regular Earth

Marshall and Kryo, Thanks for clearing my misunderstaning of the mining ship so promptly. Sorry, I must have missed that in the manual. The reasoning is very obvious now that you explained it. I have not been able to replicate the false Earth map described above. It occurred the first two times I opened a new game of DA with the Terrans today but has not happened since. I'll post a picture if it happens again. Great job on the new expansion Stardock. It's been a lot of

Hi, long time lurker here with a first time post. I also (regarding TIPedersen's post) noticed that Earth does not look like Earth when starting a new game with the Terrans. I saved my game and reloaded it and the map reverted to the standard Earth map. Also, I noticed that after using a mining ship to construct a mining base, the mining ship's movement was reduced to 1/1, when it had been 2/2 before. This also occurred after I upgraded the mining ship with faster engines. Don't know if
