The area around the suns are pretty much unused. I think that it would be pretty cool to be able to build a solar research station around a sun, and have certain advanced techs require one of these stations in order to research it.

Ships should be able to collide with each other, whether on purpose or by accident. I used the Kamakazi tactics in Homeworld all fo the time back in the day. Plus it would be cool if there was a capital ship that had the ability to self-destruct and cause massive splash damage (make it a level 6 ability, so you'll think twice before sacrificing a valuable ship). If this does become an ability, I would just ask the devs to not make it auto-cast.
I like this idea, it would allow for hit-and-run tactics. Just make sure that certain sensors or scout ships can detect cloaked units.
I like the idea of being able to blow up your own sun as deterrence from invasion. In multiplayer strategy games, I've always been the one with the crazy tactics that either failed miserably or worked out surprisingly well.
Even if only the pirates could steal ships, that would still be cool.
Well, if the pirates are bothering you, just make it more worth their time to attack someone else. I would simply start upping the bounty on one of my oppenents.
How about guns that can fire from the surface of the planet? Just make that something you can buy and upgrade in the planetary improvement menu.
First off, I just want to say that I love the huge scale for Sins, but there is one thing that bothers me, the predetermined phase jump routes. I wish that I was able to form my own routes. For instance, imagine if the scout frigates had the ability to scout out new routes that other ships could then use. Of course, attach an appropriate cost to it and make it take a good amount of time. The only restriction that I would keep is that when traveling from one star system to t
While playing the Sins Beta 2, I was sort of reminded of my days playing Homeworld. One of the gameplay features that I love in HW was the ability to steal my oppenents ships. I think that Sins would be more interesting if you could do that (especially if it allows you to sell the ships on the blackmarket, assuming that you don't have the logsitics to support it). Also, you could expand on that idea. Imagine being able to set up a gravity well generator in the middle of a trade rou
One of the things that I love about this game is the Bounty system. It encourages me to attack certain empires and encourages pirates to do the same. The thing that struck me as odd is that the pirates almost function as just another AI. Think about it for a second. Imagine yourself as a pirate. Would you attack a highly defended planet losing most of your ships in order to get a bounty, or would you look for ships that are isolated. If I was a pirate, I would look for an area wher
