I have another question pertaining to this subject somewhat. If we've preordered with cd option, will we be getting just a cd with manual in pdf on it, or will there be any paper documentation with it? A paper manual would be nice, but we can print PDF too.

What happens to the people who pre-ordered Dark Avatar and asked for a CD to be sent to them. What kind of CD will we be getting?
Laws ar But are laws in themselves moral? Is the death penalty not immoral, regardless of what the crime entailed? Understandably, there needs to be a set of laws in place to provide consistency in the chaos and to keep our emotions from ruling our actions. My question in all of this would be, would we need rules of law if we lived our lives upholding true morality? To
Assuming we are talking about legal laws rather than scientific laws... A law cannot "rule" by itself, but its existence causes humans to rule themselves. A law does nothing but state what the society that generated it finds permissible or prohibited. The existence of a law only compels people to obey it in proportion to their fear of the response of society. The phrase "the rule of law" however does not refer to the ability of law to somehow rule by itself, but to the willing
Re-updated drivers again. Now everything works correctly! Thanks for helping out a clearly blind GC2 player.
Thanks. I also realized that that debug.err was from AFTER I reinstalled the gam, so it was from 1.0X or something. I had the same problem with 1.31 before I reinstalled the game from the disks. I will update the video drivers asap and hopefully I will be back up and running at the somewhat slower than comfortable speed I was at before.
It just ends right there.
Sure, here it is. oops, sorry for the 2x post. I thought I edited that.
I have the same error right now with 1.31. When the galaxy screen is about to be displayed after the loading screen (saved or new game) I get a windows exception error with the following info. AppName: galciv2.exe AppVer: 1.0.0.1 ModName: d3d9.dll ModVer: 5.3.2600.2180 Offset: 00043f3d Please let me know if anyone has successfully resolved this issue, or if anyone can read the reams of additional techical info windows provided with the exception error.

This issue seemed to be caused by insufficient power to the graphics card. I removed the card and went back to the video offered on the shuttle motherboard I use. This solved the problem with the white lines and artifacts. NOW I have a new problem. After the loading screen at the start of a new game, or after attempting to load a saved game, GC2 seems to be about to display the galaxy screen when I get some kind of Exception Error. I get this set of info. AppName: galc
Did you ever solve this? I now have the same issue with 1.31
I have just installed a GeForce 7600 GS, with the latest available drivers. I am having exactly the same issue. Did either of you ever fix this? If not, can anyone get anything from the debug.err posted above. Failing either of those, let me know if I need to post a debug.err of my own.
Also, You need Battle Stations 1 to build the "Subspace Blaster 1," "Ship Pounder 1" and "Star Javelin 1," but the 2nd and 3rd levels of those weapons can be built without first building any Battle Stations at all. I would imagine you either need BS1 or maybe even BS2/3 to install those. ALSO, Missile Bloom, Omega Cannon and Beam Multiplier all leap from level 1 to level 3. There is no level 2.
I get the best sensors. (great for finding those planets early, just plot a course NEAR to a few systems) I also go for research, creativity and luck. For some reason I always seem to get free logistics and free soldiering too. Even when I clear the default skills, those remain.
How about allowing fleets to move simultaneously rather than consecutively. Each "round" of movement would let a fleet move 1 space. Then defensive fleets could wait for offensive fleets to move near to them, and move to intercept them as they get close enough. You would then have to try and approach from multiple angles, or bring a covering fleet. It would also mean that having a couple of defensive fleets near to a star system would be quite an effective defense. Of course, it would make manua
I think we need a key to make a selected ship "continue on it's autopilot route." I often want some of my scouts to make their autopilot routes before I decide what to do with the other ships. Right now, I have to right click somewhere to set the same autopilot route each turn.
Ahha. Close is better than friendly I suppose. If I offer these other races free gifts and things, will that improve our relationship, or do I need to do more than that?
Even though I am told that alliances suck, I would like to attempt an alliance victory. Even when I have the "Alliances" technology researched, my Treaties section of a trade screen has no Alliance option, only Make Peace and Attack. This is true even of my most friendly alien neighbors. What do I need to do to get the Alliance option as a treaty I can offer? Am I being dumb? Are alliances made in some other way? Do I need more technology or better relationships than "frie
I see squares on my planet that have +100% MORALE bonuses. I have buildings that affect my APPROVAL. Are these 2 the same thing? Or are they different. A second question: Does Approval/Morale help defend my colonies against enemy INFLUENCE, or can I only boost my own influence to save me?
Please can someone help me find where it tells you your influence ratio for an enemy planet. With enough espionage, I can see their Inflence points, but I cannot find the influence point ratio. Is it the number in the ()'s after the IPs? Please take the time to answer me as it is driving me nuts
