I noticed that in the main screen the camera is fully 3D (i.e. if you rotate it a couple times it gets pretty naseauting to know your orientation). How come this isn't applied to the Sins gameplay? And as a result of this observation, are there any plans to make the random planet generator utilize the Z-axis?

Yes there doesn't need to be more rock/paper/scissor. There just needs to be more love for individual ship types. Like giving cobalts the anti-matter killer, and LRM more range then cannons; that was a great idea. Yet between the capital ships right now there isn't much of a difference. They all shoot pretty well and bomb pretty good, I only ever build Akkans (for colonizing) and Kols. The abilities don't matter too much in the long run when you're commanding tens of capital ships and frigates.
Give us the option of anti-missile planetary defense that shoots down a percentage of siege missiles!
Ron those are the weapon types. Very light is probably flak, don't know what light is, but anything above medium is stuff likes beams, autocannons, and lasers. Don't know what missiles fall under. Capitalability is like "flak burst". Accuracy is determined between 0 (0%) and 1 (100%).
Well if you want to buy a playstation or whatever you can feel free to. I love the games on the xbox 360, and stupid customer service is just a part of the life. How many countless times have CS screwed up your computer stuff? Yet I still love my computer too.
I think the major disappointment was not being able to see all those cool nifty ships upfront like in the screenshots. I'm waiting for IC to release the zoom hack though.
I don't know what you guys are talking about. Oblivion is RPG is its purest form. No, you're not some pre-thought out being with a huge sword but that's not what RPGs are about. It's about role-playing; you make your own character and you can do whatever the hell you want. That's about as close to an RPG as you can get. Now if you want to call me an Oblivion lover, I'm not. I think the story was pretty bland and I don't play it (I'd rather play Morrowind, its predecessor). On t
Ehehe, I looked at all of them in beta 1 when I was trying to modify stuff. The only memorable one was planet_mania.
Yes please.
(sorry for late reply) Look they are obviously at very different resolutions but they were taken at the same time! One is more detailed while the other is less.
AM is not required for phase jumping period.
Thank god a way to get crystal again!
What I'm saying is, Multianna, is that we're not allowed to zoom in that close! What a waste!
Something I've noticed (and I'm sure everyone has) is that the screenshots by Ironclad are superior then the graphics we see in game. Why is that? It might be a camera problem . (on 1680 x 1050, full graphics) Here is as close as you can get when focused on a unit... ...pretty boring. Now this ... <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v328/sykokhev/sub
Why not put it back in? I like the idea of upkeep, it slows down late-game fleets to something reasonable.
I thought culture already boosted tax income by 10%.
Have upkeep levels change proportional to the population level?
I thought Ironclad said there were going to be fleet formations in one of their interviews.
haha. turns out what happened was I got no terran planets at all, but i got two ice planets (one only 2 jumps away, the other 3). the other computer had a whole lot more terran planets tho.
1. It is impossible to move in the Sun's gravity well, any clickage results in fleets jumping out of the well. 2. Units jump back and forth between "moving to a friendly ship" and "attacking" when their attack behavior is set to "weapons range" in range of enemies. Clicking on a point in space does not result in the same problem.
You have access to Beta 2, and that's why it charged you. It charged again a week ago to verify that you can actually be billed. And no, pre-ordering requires you to put a payment down (like when you pre-order games in a store). In this case, you pay for all of it.
I think releasing them all at once would be best. A lot of the feedback so far has been gameplay-related and not TEC related.
Simply put, being good/evil does not make my fleet any better/less of a battle wagon.
I was playing a game the other night where I had actually enough crystal all the time. But I did capture two ice planets 30 minutes into the game, so I'm not sure. You need to focus on crystal mining and always build crystal extractors first and stuff. I never had to buy crystal the entire game (I even sold it!).
With the limited logistics, you can't stuff research stations on one secluded asteroid. But you can put six on one secluded desert planet, and that was really surprising. It was a shock, after all these low logistic planets, that I find one with 6! Spamming of research stations ensued.
