If you guys have ever played time of defiance you probably know that 10 min between destinations is way too long for it to be fun. I hope they plan on making that the slowest possible speed and faster gameplay. Strategic gameplay doesn't have to mean slower then glacier ice pacing. Just slow enought to make decisions and execute at a paced rate not frantic. But going to sl
Schod
and schem i thought blair said we could target specific buildings on the last forum no??? maybe on the pre-official one yes, but not on any thread that I read. well that as well as the atmosphere and what you can breath... if you
Crew experience? yup Also will there be formations and will that impact the outcome of the battle? *prays* but no definate answer (although we do know that location matters) this sort of thing
Of the last 10 replies, 7 are yours where have you been reading that you've only seen 10 replies =_= ...
I havent started spamming yet fatal, not more than anyone else anyway its just that a lot of newcommers are asking questions, and I'm helping to answer them (or make more questions...)
but that would be ecological conditions. in which case I would call that a typo.
schem though has the upper hand on me since he is on the forum every 20 mins I spam, I dont live here fatal, you know that.
like homeworld, I hope come to think they might just put an input capacity into the game however building your own ships is out of the question (without drastic modlike changes) and will totally *not* be supported in MP
yeah, that bugged me to I think what they *meant* to say was that you can control them tactically, and it will be important to do so, but your tactical movements in one battle will not decide the war. *puppy eyes towards blair*
I assume there will be multiple types of games... the classical being all parties begin with control of one planet as for size and length, you can ramp up the number of planets to have a HUGE game, or minimize them to make it very one on one
Each planet will also have unique atmospheric conditions (IGN preview) !!! what could this mean !!! could battles with either party *really* close to the planet work differently? (or maybe its just a typo)
but then again, hermatizing brings with it originality, and god knows the game industry needs originality.
The old forum is still up at http://www.ironcladgames.com/sins/forums/, though I have no idea how long Blair plans to keep it there. it has some sentimental value for us... anyway, a word of wisdom from the wise: use the SEARCH FEATURE. you wont fi
Just go and remove the whole forum of the dedicated fans, and then let a bunch of n00bs take over the distribution of the game *shivers* uncanny how you understood how I felt. 'ey... wait... thelen, you werent much of a poster on the last forum anyway <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Ew.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmi
Blair i hope you and the team will start a thread for user submitted ideas wow, I put 1K of posts into developing ideas surrounding this game, trust me, this forum (if anything like the last one) will be filled with USI's no matter how you slice it.
um... my guess was that it was going to take more of a total war approach, where you can chose to buy indescrete little off-camera buildings that would populate the ground, these would have indirect bearing on your empire (i.e. bonuses, money, populace, resource collection etc.) whereas orbital construction would be more direct (factories, orbital defense platfroms, hangars, planetary shielding etc.) I dont believe you can target certain ground buildings, however I b
dont worry leth xD (as to time management)- you will be more than preoccupied with other things going on in your galaxy to remotely consider sitting on your arse for 10 minutes
Yep blair said that along time ago in an old artikel i cant seem to find. And on the forum Thought you knew, as you where the one with more then 1000posts we had some vague references, but nothing direct or concrete
though crossing the galactic divide could take somewhere around ten minutes. this info is usefull, now we can start making strategic guesses about mass-movement xD as well they noted inter-planetary jumps last a few minutes. so this means many things 1 ) if someone monopolizes a galaxy (and defends it correctly) it will be very difficult
RPG- Guild Wars Phantasy Star Online Tactical/Strategic RTSes- Homeworld Rome Total War FPSes- Time Splitters 2 Stealth TPS- Splinter Cell, SC pandora's box, SC chaos theorey (claravoiant predictions)- Assassin's Creed (whoo!!!) Sins of a Solar Empire (better be *extremely* awesome if I have to wait another year for it )
well its up and working but... now all the .JPG pictures I try to load onto my file are labeled as "corrupted" which is irritating, I want my avatar to work =_=... ah well, I know your still ironing some problems out, get back to me if you find the problem. thanks.
it might be kind of boring without Karma here, however that guy was fun to mess with
Hey guys, I'm back, ready to wrestle with the brilliant minds of our forumites anyway, I thought I would just put this post here for any active members of the previous forum (pre-stardock) if you changed your SN or just want to check in from the old forum, post here.
yeah, maybe *crosses fingers* the new questions wont be so damn back-and-forth like they were in the last forum I feel that we can get a lot more out of this forum by wiping it clean besides, no people new to forums would even bother going thru 6K posts. (a thread)
Could this be the Totalwar in space game many have been waiting for? not quite. the game is more of a wide-spectrum RTS. hopefully tactics will have a large bearing on combat, but its unlikely to be at the level of total war. by "wide spectrum" I mean you command every movement (if you want) of a massive empire, at best you will only be able
