You probably hit the key "M" or clicked the button with the camera top left of center. I do this myself sometimes so i remapped it to a key i'm less likely to hit.

Sounds like you are missing that file. Try redownloading from stardock or maybe someone here could send you the the file that matches up with your version (latest is 10 i think).

Hold down alt when you select.

don't know about the first one but devs have said not all tec stuff is in including not all ships and not all pirate stuff is in.

I believe the description of the behavior is group phase jump, though i think there is a way to mamke them move as a unit during normal movment but its currently bugged.

Try manually modifying the AA in the user.setting file.

Nice pictures and story laww! You should save often incase of a crash so you can continue your game. Actually if you edit the user.settings file you can turn on autosave so you will never be more than a few minutes off from where you crashed
