I just got word that they will be on the Operation BSU chat tonight talking about Sins and various other topics at http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/talkCast.jsp?masterId=33899 . The link has a phone number and stuff so I think you might be able to call in and ask questions (or maybe email them in I'm not sure). The last chat gave out some good info so don't miss this one!

You don't need to do any configuring to join a game. The problem is only when people want to host.
It should as there are lots of Australian players playing it already though Australia is getting a retail version in April I believe.
Its been described by the dev as the "longest shortest path" with the reasoning described by PekkaR so this is correct. Working as intended.
Oh!!! This is looking sweet. Can't wait :)
I completely agree with Blair on his "I loves" about the pirates...it really does remind me of Catan (Cities and Knights Expansion) when the pirate ship and robber are making their way towards land...you damn well know they're coming. Managing the pirates, at least when you begin playing SINS in my opinion, has a lot to do with strategic management of "sheer panic" (that's the technical term :P). That being said, I LOVE this crazy psychological dimension of the game whereby one's ass can be hand
It was mentionned in an old interview and in irc that they are intentionally leaving the time frame ambiguous for the time being. No idea why.
You can choose your portraits, it was revealed in an irc discussion I believe.
The number of research topics :) I can't wait for the official release of this game! Ironfuzz
All peer to peer games suffer the same problem but I know some people who got it to work through Hamachi.
[quote] BTW my dad got his credit card thingy today, with the list of things that has been bought with the credit card. he noticed the 'sins of a solar empire' in the list, and asked me about it....i told him it was a novel for english at school. then he said that it was software....nd i said that it came with some random learning program....it seemed to work, because he just ignored it (surprisingly not caring about the price ($114AU) or he just didnt see it). *phew* omfg thank god my dad w
I'm pretty sure the dev's are correct. After looking into it, there are only two values that matter when eliminating another player's control over the planet: infrastructure (i'm guessing this cover gov't control centers etc) and allegiance. Take either of these to zero and the planet will fall. The population dropping is just an unfortunate sideffect of choosing to bomb the planet but I have seen population hold out during bombing and I was able to assume control over the planet with a decent p
Krosov's now have the Fallout ability which definately improves the feasibility of strikes that hurt the enemy's economy without making it an all or nothing affair.
Click the scuttle button below the portrait. It was kept small and out of way of the rest of them so it wasn't pressed by mistake.
No idea but its probably tied in with something cool taht IC doesn't want seen yet.
Ya i read the orange button will allow you to rename capital ships and planets.
-Multiplayer and lan options aren't out until beta 3. -The pirate and AI problem is known and will be fixed in monday's patch. -i agree with you on the framerate request -you can create larger galaxies by using the customize galaxy button and i've seen modders with galaxies of hundreds of stars (which is silly imo but shows that you its very easy to open a text file and make whatever you want). oh and also the patch notes say that the new large galaxy is going to be larger and youc a
Really? I paused the game when a fighter launched from the Sova Carrier and it was very very small compared to it and I saw the Sova next to a planet and the planet looked huge. I find it really depends on where your camera is and where the objects are in relationship to the camera - the perspective can be misleading.
Oh thx, i will now look for three green arrows. I was wondering that myself but it makes sense now if you thinkg of combining two groups with different settings.
That's what I do too - power levelling rocks!
I dont see "Fighters prioritizing enemy bombers/fighters properly" did that make it into this patch? He said it was included in one of the other AI changes so it wasn't explicitly stated.
Fighters do attack automatically and manually - I just tested it. IC fixed it in last week's hotfix. Perhaps you haven't updated?
17. You can do this by right clicking the level up button (same as everything else in Sins). 18. Tilde (~) key or change it in the options screen to something you prefer.
It looks intentional to me. It is probably that way so that on widescreens the thing doesn't pop up in the middle of the screen. I have a widescreen and I prefer it anyways so i hope it doesn't change.
devs said shift incrementing/decrementing anything is planned for a l8r version but ya, definately need it for the market.
