Thanks Stant123 for your very complex explanation of the different AI cheating capabilities.

Yeah I read it, but isn't he only talking about the new difficulties? He says "Hard had 1, just like me." So for me that sounds like it wasn't cheating. And I can't compare after a a longer time for maybe the AI has more gold income for he has focused on economy while I have focused on something else.
And how does it cheat? Like I said the gold income seems to be the same as mine.
When does the diplomacy AI begin to cheat? At the beginnings of SOASE it was on hard I think. But yesterday I started a game on hard and quitted it after one minute. In the chart at the end it says that the AI had the same gold income as I had. So it is not cheating on hard anymore but is simply smarter than on normal?
Hi, I should place my mods here: C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods Well... but this folder does not exist. Like the thread-title says I'm using a german windows xp. The only folder existing is (translated into english): C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire So the folder is at the wrong place and the "mods" folder dies not exist. When I simply create the mods folder the m
I think "hard" is too easy just now and I hate cheating AIs, so the suggestings in the first post are very good to improove the AI in my eyes.
Ah ok thanks I found it and tested it. I think it affects Sins and gives it a little better look, not a giant difference but it's worth a try if your pc can handle it.
How do you change it, if not in-game?
-Ship boarding/capture -Troop transports for ground invasions instead of just bombing everything would be my favourites, but all listed things would be nice. ^^
I'd like PJI's which unables enemys to jump anywhere, so it's a do or die. If you don't want to fight, just let a scout fly first, when you see that there is an PJI just don't jump in when you don't want to be forced to stay there until it is destroyed. Edit: The ships which unable enemys to jump in a specific range are an even better way I think.
I think there is a much better way than just lowering it. The upkeep should not be based on what your max fleet capacity is, but be based on how much fleetpoints your fleet realy consumes at just this moment. So the upkeep should be varying and not be a stable percentage which never can be lowered once research is done.
I was hoping that, when you said roleplaying, you meant actually roleplaying the races. For instance not just going to war for no reason, but because they sent their ships into something you regard as 'sacred ground' or something.
That would be roleplying you won't need any mods for. ^^
A roleplaying mod would be very interresting for me too. But I woul'd not be sure, that it's possible to set one player as a "god" who can do anything he wants, like putting ships enywhere, take them away and so on. And that would request you to play multiplayer and find others who want to play exactly this mod at this time... so a singleplayer version would be better, where it's like "storybased" and you get ships for fullfilling tasks and maybe sometimes have just a fleet and no planet and so
As far as I know, when you buy/pre-order anything at totalgaming/stardock-central it will be bound to your account, so you will be able to buy everything just once per account.
Ah ok, thanks for the both descriptions.
Call me an idiot, but what exactly means 4X?
Ah thanks for your very fast replies. I just bought the Total Gaming Membership and with the Tokens I bought the game because I think you will release some more great games/expansions in the future so the Membership is a good investment for the future(to buy the future games). ^^
Is there realy no opportunity to pre-order Sins of a Solar Empire via pay pal? I used pay pal to pre-order Galactic Civilizations 2: Twilight of the Arnor without any problems and so I'm wondering.
