I would like to get everyone's feedback on both camera options - attached and strafe-enabled mode. Click on the camera (or lock) button beside the menu button at the top center. Thanks!

Great suggestions MCommander. Any other comments on the tutorials are appreciated.
It will run, but with just a little more RAM you'll enjoy it even more
I just completed a game, and while I'm having no graphical corruption issues, I did notice that if you zoom in to max detail when you're looking at a planet, you zoom below the planet surface, which causes the planet to disappear. Zooming out a little bit restores the planet surface. If you have an object selected/focused behind a planet and you zoom towards that object you will go right through the planet. We tried camera collision at one point, but c
Thanks for the great feedback everyone! I'll do my best to address a few: could not seem to change ship names the big pop up seems very big when highlighting ships aside from that cant think of anything else this game looks good so far The ship naming is in the game but currently disabled, along with some other goodies accessible from the orange button in the center UI. You will see these later. Re
is it ok to cry? That...was...beautiful.
ALSO I've noticed all the pics so far are of space being PEACH colored , are we currently limited to just a PEACH colored nebula background? Must just be a coincidence There are multiple backgrounds in the beta.
I see you have the title font, so at least one made it through.
2) asteroids have the caption The caption is actually set to the player's name. The tutorial default is 'Recruit'.
Is there anyway to change where the ships go after they leave the construction station? They seem to always fly to the center planet or asteroid. You can set a rallypoint to wherever you like. Click on the planet, then look at the actiongrid on your bottom right. Click the yellow "Set Rally Point" button. Select any point within the gravity well and your ships will assemble there. This simple action can have serious consequences in a game <img src="htt
...it would be nice if the camera would follow the centered ship while moving. As an alternative to clicking 'M' you can also just click the camera toggle attached button (beside the menu button, top left UI)
First post here, Hi. I've only tried the beta for a moment but the following things caught my attention. The middle text in the galaxy creation screen has the tendcy to be to large for the frame and run over into the next piece of text. Zooming in or out seems to take an inordinate amount of processing power. Other than that the game runs fine in 2560*1600. Windows vista X24400+ GF8800GXT 768 mb vidcard DirectX 10
The left management bar will make your life easier, particularily when zoomed out, but the entire game can be played without touching it. You can collaspe the bar in full or part. Some of us prefer to view use a condensed version that displays tiny pips. Its really up to you

Yes Multianna, Most of the Team works every weekend
Hi Multianna, I am still alive. My Wacom tablet pen has become permenantly joined to my index finger, making it difficult to type After beta I'll do away with the finger and install a permanent pen appendage. Thanks for the feedback everyone - it really keeps our Art Team pumped
Doesn't take long for you to find these
You will see non-canned damage effects including flames, billowing fire, smoke, steam, electrical damage and more!
Yes LionHeart. You will lose valuable income and resources from a prime planet, not to mention your pride. You are more likely to lose an asteroid or secondary planet - as most people would protect their homeworld with defense platforms and other goodies.
Hey Leth, 10 minutes can really fly by (excuse the horrific pun) as you move on to other units, battles, tradelines, and diplomatic planning and plotting. You also need to keep in mind that a multi-system game is quite large. Movement between planets/planetoids in a single system is much faster.
