I have a hard time figuring out how you can have performance problems running this game, I have a Athlon 64 x2 running at 2.2 with 2g of ram and a GeForce 9800GT 512mb and I dont have any performance issues and am running the game at 1280x1024 all effects enabled except dust clouds, bloom and skyboxes.

I paid with paypal too. I think when you pay with paypal, you have to wait for the payment to go through before you can download. If you go to your paypal account, you might see that the payment still hasn't been subtracted. It might take a few days.

Read carefully, not "My Documents" but "Documents & Settings" and show hidden folders just to be sure!
like as in Age of Empires 2? I remember yuo could view that civilizations technology tree without even having to launch the game, it was a good way to find out which one i'd want to play Good times...
Exactly!
One thing I am missing and would like to have, is the abilitye to browse the technology trees without having to start a new game. What I mean is to be able to browse the tech trees from within the main menu, that would be helpfull, for me anyway. Any suggestions, is it something that could be in the next patch or expansion. Otherwise could it be done through modding? JPHamel
Well [e digicons][/e] , 3h42m against 2 AI on a random-medium FFA, both ai on easy, shame on me. But for my defense I'd say I'm a newb. This game just rocks, imagine if we could design our own ships. But being a rts, that is clearly not possible.
Just forgot to mention. You guys will probably have in mind SOTS which is 3D turn based. But I find moving around the map REALLY annoying. If I could move around in the map as in sins I might play SOTS again. Anyway, the subject here is sins.
That would be awesome, but a bit hard for the player considering the RTS style of this particular game. Almost all TBS games are 2d. And since this games is succeding at conveying the TBS atmosphere to a rts, I like it as it is. But that would still be awesome. JPhamel
I haven't played any maps larger than random-medium, and yesterday the first with 2 AI opponents on random-medium. At 1 point it seemed like I was in a stalemate, with 1 AIs on each side. As I pushed one back in a corner, the other one kept coming at me, draining my resources to finish off the first one. I didn't have any choke points. And there were 2 excellent planets there that formed my front against the 2nd AI. It had been going for about 15 minutes, I didn't want to lose
There is one thing. It might be by design or otherwise, and I dont know if it's the case on any size map, but it always seems that every planetary systems created, they always are split in half with only 2 point to cross over to the other side with the sun and pirate base the only connection through, I would have found interesting a more open planetary system. No example comes to mind, but se4 maps or something like that, I mean in terms of connections between the planets (stars for se4).
Sweet, karma!
I'm just starting playing this game, and am on to my 5th game. (on easy) [e digicons][/e] . But I totally love this game. This is king of a new genre that got me hooked. Anyways, I only play on small random for now untill it flows naturally on what to do. What I would like to know, is what is the largest map anyone ever played. I dont ask this for pc performance, as it's really not an issue. I would like to know how much time it took (game time), difficulty level, and a b
And mods arent the responsibility of the game developers. If you make a mod, you are the one responsible for the compatibility. Says thanks that game developers create their games with the modders in mind. oops, is this necro? how long does it take to consider necro?
Not the case.
You mean you dont need internet connection to install impulser or you dont need impulse to restore the backup, which i doubt!
Yes, but you need to install impulse to restore the backup. I havent tried but I think you need internet connection to install impulse. I know of the archive feature I archive before patching. The only thing I dont like is the fact that when the patches for my game are downloaded, I can reinstall any of my games without the absolute necessity of having internet connection. But anyway at the age we are now, internet connection won't be an issue anymore, since every home will ha
The only problem I see with impulse is once you download the patch you had to register through impulse. once registered you download the patch. Once we have the patch. why cant we reinstall the game and the patch without having to redownload the patch. The copy is registerd. like MrVweegit wrote above i like to install my games and mypatches that I have stored in a safe place. I already downloaded those, why would I have to download them again. But I also love the fact that impulse is sorta l
Where does impulse put the archived files? Thanks
