Strength of the Fallen is notably more powerful than the standard titan passive damage enhancement, and this on a titan that's already more damaging than most. I find Nano Remit to be more impressive for it's antimatter restore than its hull restore The amount of times where you just need one more capship ability right now but the pool is depleted happens enough that this ability is worth investing in. The thing is, nano remit is found on a race that already has fa

If you're looking for cool, how about using an Eradica + Progenitor + Discord to load a bunch of scouts with Revenge From Beyond, send them in as suicide bombers and max your Strength of the Fallen (and malice damage) at the same time?

There are better ways to change a humans behavior, that is all I am saying. Then go get your own country and try out your novel social theories that haven't worked anywhere in history. Let us know how it works out... if you escape alive, that is.

5 still isn't enough. Nto to mention what happens if they take the activation servers down in 5 years? Actually, the most likely scenario in that case is they would release a patch to remove the activation limit. That's what some other companies have done in the past. So... do you feel lucky?

Not to mention you were a completely legitimate user forced to look like a crack! Worse, you are an person who's inexperienced with piracy 'forced' to engage in it. Which means you have a much better chance of being caught than a real pirate. Your ISP gives you one warning when you are caught, and if you do it again your internet access is cut off. Permananently. That's the best outcome... there is also a very low chance that y

Fore more installtions you will have to contact the customer-support and they will deal with it case-by-case That's wonderful... except that their customer-support is unavailable. Don't believe me? I eventually found it with a google search, but it was on a gamespot page wher

2. Wait until a DRM removal patch comes out. It eventually will. Unless is is released by the publisher, that's not a legal option like you claim. You are either not in a country affected by the DMCA or an equivelant, or you aren't familiar with its provisions. ANY bypass of the DRM, even if it is for a copy you bought and otherwise used in accordance with the agreement, is illegal to make and illegal to use. I have to agree here that <a id="ctl00__Content

1. Because I was TEC during this game, I always made sure the pirates were going after my friend because I had the credits to ensure this. Meanwhile, his capships were leveling up and such. Should I let them attack me a bit more? Depends. Were you able to use the extra time you bought to grab extra planets? 2. How much should I micromanage battles? I always feel, especially as TEC, I can't waste too much time giving orders to each and ever

IF they can make campaigns that are different every time, and not like the old arcade game "Heavy Barrel" than campaigns could be a good idea, but if you play it twice and it's exactly the same, then there's no point in that. Because as everyone knows, the Starcraft, etc campaigns played completely differently each time through and that's the only reason they didn't suck.

Try to build stacks near your homeworld because that way they'll have a higher allegiance(sic). Does planetary allegiance affect trade revenue at all? I know it must affect refineries because the percentages of the mines are lower at low align planets. Sixhits is right about the large startup cost of setting up trade ports... and the lesson from that is: If you aren't prepared to setup a lot more than the minimum 2 ports, then it will take a long, lon

If the Kol has high flak, 3 repair bays can hold out for a while against that force. The trick is that the enemy Dunov has to lead the attack by smacking the Kol with EMP to drop the Kol's AM. Then focus on the bays as the above commenter stated.

Of course it's a somewhat newb tactic... it does clearly state in the title that it's for "people trying to get better"... aka newbies. In that context, its good that he reccomends the colonizer capships... rushing the enemy's cap is not a tactic all that appropriate for newbies, and micromanaging frig colonizer AM is a royal pain when you are still learning. And if you aren't using the scouts to find and rush the enemy homeworlds, then you can often get away with only having one at fi

One part I forgot - after you have the computer players reasonably under control and take the closest planets to the pirates, build them up with defenses then have the pirates attack you to build up the levels of the capships you have defending that star system. This will help you go for the "captain" bonus where you max out one capship's level. If the computer players are about to die and you haven't achieved all the achievments you want, backstab your AI ally before he kills them off

I did my "Go big or go home" with the TEC on "Systems of War" (4 players, 5 systems), and did a 2x2 with pirates enabled. So I did have frigates - my ally's, and the pirates =). Normal difficulty only... I regard special restrictions to be an inherent "hard" setting, and see no need to bump it up further. Key to this is to realize that capships are SLOW. Therefore you have to figure out where you need to be well in advance of being there. If you get attacked in a system and you don'

Also note that you aren't really getting a tough capship with energy absorption, since that ship begins with weak armor. Getting absoption upgrades merely brings the armor back up to what it should be for a cap of that class.

What you build depends on what effects you want to produce. There are several unique abilities that static defenses have that ships do not. Firepower-based static defenses do not contribute to your fleet cap, delaying the point at which you must upgrade... allowing more total firepower for a given amount of upkeep cost. This is more than balanced out by the fact that a static defense is only useful while the system is invaded, which unless it is being constatly hammered then its usele

Each race has its own favored method of boosting resource and/or cash production. This favored method gets specific techs to boost the effectiveness of this method, and the method's building can be researched with fewer civilian research centers than the other races can do. The TEC's specialty is trade. They get Trade ports earliest, at level 2. At levels 4-6-8 they can start boosting the amount of cash per freighter(and refinery ships as well). The Advent's specialty is cul

Animosity: An ability useful during the early game, when you need the Radiance to draw fire from your weaker frigates. I have found little use for it late game, except used with the Rapture's Vengeance. How do you use Animosity "with" Vengeance, given that you are drawing fire AWAY from the one you want to reflect damage? Only possible way I can think of is using the ability to take the heat off the Rapture after it's taken serious damage so it can get away.

Tec officer: "We could NOT coexist..." Well, true. Its kind of hard for a society of non-telepaths to coexist with one of telepaths. Forget star trek utopian non-solutions - if there is a person who can literally change your mind on the loose, you can banish them, or you can be ruled by them and believe it was your own idea to do so. You can't even trust someone who's been in contact with them to vouch for them, because HIS mind might have been affected. The person w
Yes it sucks that alot of big companies have to treat everyone like a potential pirate, but how else are they going to protect their investments?
Interesting how people continue to ask this question even inside a forum of a best-selling game that does not do these things. Why, its almost as if some people cannot learn the answers to their own questions because they are impervious to answers that they do not want to hear.
