I know this is an old thread but I wanted to bump it up to see if there is anything that can be done to make the game playable? My desktop runs the game great, but a friend of mine wants to buy the new game & play it as well but only has a laptop with the standard, onboard Intel HD graphic chipset. Pretty fast dual-core processor, 4gigs of ram. Thanks!

My immediate question to this is, "Why?".
Well crap. That wasn't what I was expecting to hear. I buy one of their games & still don't qualify for the discount. That's not right. *sigh* [e digicons]:pout:[/e]
I have SoaSE:GOTY edition. I registered my code but it's not applying my $10 discount for the pre-order of Rebellion. Doesn't the GoTY edition qualify for the discount? Thanks.
Well I'm glad that ICO is actively looking into this and simply not ignoring the issue. Hopefully they will have it rectified soon so like Pbhead, we can be "some" people with no lag in the game. As a side note regarding this...I was able to directly IP into my co-worker' machine & play the game with no issue whatsoever. So that does tell me it was something with ICO, Pbhead.
you just posted the same post in 2 locations. wow.
...and???
And, some people have no problems with lag online.
Hurray for "some people". "Some" indicate a minority. Therefore I am (as are others) in the majority.
with pings under 60, you shouldnt have lag issues.
I got nutt
A co-worker & I tried playing online for the first time together last nite. Utter failure. He tried hosting, then I tried hosting. Same results (virtually). Our systems aren't junk either. I'm running a quad-core 2.8ghz w/4gigs of DDR3 hi-speed ram, blah, blah, blah. Plenty of horsepower for this game. He's running something similar. Our pings were under 60 the whole game but next to it in status it stated: "Lagging" virtually the whol
nope
Well, could you please elaborate as to how I get passed this? Also, I was told by Ryat in another post that to watch replays of games I must find replays made with the version of the game I'm using (v1.181). Could someone please finish Ryat' post & let me know where I can get replays of games using v1.181? Thanks
I downloaded a couple of replays to watch but they say "Invalid Save type" when I try to watch them. They are older versions I guess (v1.03) & I'm on v1.181. Does this mean I can't watch older replays?
Side note...I'm starting another game after winning the last one. Do I have to set up my player' name, pic & colors each time I play?
EDIT: Also, you really should look at the Multiplayer replay topic and download some of the replays. It's extremely helpful watching what some of the veteran players do, and can really improve your playing style.
Good advice, SS. Thanks.
What you encountered are the defensive militia that are randomly generated at each planet. They aren't controlled by your AI opponents- they just stay there and attack anything that comes in. Btw, congrats on getting the game. Any chance you'll be joining us for MP (after you practice up a bit?)
I may give MP a shot in the near future, Yakov. I just hope I'm not overwhelmed by playability of everyone out there
Thanks, SS! Redoing this map with your tactics in mind. I have 1 question for you. When you say "Repair Bays" for actual defenses, what are you speaking of? Your not talking about the repair platforms themselves are you? Also...not sure if the AI is "cheating" or not but when I got into the game, I immediately created 2 colony frigates & sent them to 2 different planets. As soon as I got to each one, there were approximately 3-4 LRF alr
Finally got the game for Christmas yesterday (Woot me! [e digicons][/e] ) Installed it, upgraded it & started playing. Started small with a "Random Small" game. Long story short I played for roughly 4 hours till I dozed off about 3am. Started up again this afternoon & I'm about 2 hours further into the game & the AI just threw about 200 ships at me on 2 different planets!! It'll be a wipe for me but I'll use it as a learning experience
Ryat banned for being long winded & making no sense with the comment about koda0. And I reserve the right to future ban Ryat cuz he'll have some smart-a$$ comment about this ban. [e digicons]:D[/e]
Banned for using only 1 "l" in your nick...and a bonus ban for having a 6-digit member number!
This isn't so much a bug or even an exploit but thought I'd throw this out to the technical team. I've been playing the demo for a while now. Waiting for my birthday to get the full blown game (next week btw). I played the "Balance of Power" scenario but turned off the computer players & confirmed that the pirates were enabled. (which they were). I then started playing. Immediately a "Victorious!" screen came up showing that I won the game
What's the difference between Galaxy Forge & the map designer in game? I may have missed something along the way within the forum messages. Also, is there a clear cut way of installing Galaxy Forge? Or just extract it to the SINS subfolder?
Greetings! I've noticed there are, what appears to be, 3 different versions of the base game itself. Store bought version Digital Download <li
WELL CRAP!!! The demo evidently has a 90 minute time period on a game! *sigh* [e digicons]X([/e]
quoting post This is the first time I've ever read or even heard of children purchasing a (real) computer game for their parents. Okay...I can't believe I got not 1, not 2, but 4 EXTREMELY postive replies (and 2 from DirtySanchez) regarding my question. Thanks to all of you! I sincerely appreciate it! Now I must wait till 12/10 (or whenever my kids decide to give me the game) for my birthday gift. So will play what I got now & ask more questions. Half tempted to get the manual printed out too. Think it's worth it? Are there any other Sins fan run
I know these are probably pretty much newb questions but so far everyone' been pretty cool about answering my initial questions so here it goes. I'm playing the demo till I get the bundle
Thank you both for the quick reply to my post. It sounds like you both enjoy the game immensly. And Teal is very emoticon happy!! Nuttin' wrong with that. I appreciate the insight to the game. Will forward my recommendation to my kids to get me the game for my upcoming birthday. So will be stuck playing the demo till 12/10 rolls around. [e digicons]X|[/e] But that will keep me entertained until Christmas rolls around when I ge
