I love the way you can toggle from all points of view in the game. However, what would you all think of a hot key, that when you are clicked on a specific ship, would jump you to the screen-view of that ship as it faces forward? When there is only one battle without much micromanagement, I like to zoom in on specific ships and watch some of the action up close. In addition to the other view-enabled hot keys, it would be nice to shift to the prospective of a given ship and watch some of the ac

Just a quick question someone could help me with. I just got a nice LCD TV that I would love to play Sins on. While I can plug my laptop into the TV via a DMI to HDMI cable I only get sound on the computer (and there is no easy cable that will integrate sound between the sound card single cable and the R/L audio input of the receiver). What I would ideally like to do is display both the game and use the receiver (or at least the TV itself) to play the sound. However, I have yet to find a pro

How about the addition of a Medical Ship to Sins? It would be a ship dedicated to helping planets that have just been bombarded to quickly reestablish it population or can also be used to keep a planet's population numbers up while it is being bombed. You could either have it land on the planet itself or defensively move to keep away from the attacking ships. Keeping your planet's population up would, or course, come at the cost of crystals, metal and money. You could also have features as S

Sorry, it is an Intel Core2 @ 2 GHz (the P105 is the model name). A fairly new computer (just bought it in May). Video is NVIDA GeForce Go 7900 256 Meg memory. As for Vista, while I was extremely skeptical (and it was preloaded on the computer) I just went with it. In short, it works well for me.

I have a Toshiba Satellite P105 (2 GHz, 2 Gig RAM; running Vista) and when I run Sins I get sporadic episodes of the program/music stuttering (like a small seizure). When running Sins I am not actively running other programs; however, I do have Norton 360 running in the background). I don't have any such problem with my somewhat older computer running WinXP. I will admit I have not tried systematically disabling programs but I was wondering if there was a fix for this which did not involve di

One small thing is that during the loading of games, selecting saved games, saving games, etc. you have to select the 'next' or 'select' button. It would be nice if you could just double click it and get to the next stage rather than having to specifically select the button.

Just thinking… The Trade Order was essentially competing/cooperating companies in a society based on ever escalating trade (and hence, prosperity). Implicit in this would be some degree of corporate espionage and reverse engineering of a competitor’s product in order to make your company more profitable. I imagine these same principles could be applied to galactic warfare. Without seeing all the different tech trees, I imagine there are many exclusive research options for each race; howev

For variation of classical music I would recommend looking to the game Arcanum (great classic music, circa 16-17 century). I personally love music with violin, cello, harp, etc; music that gives a somber mood. I agree that given the scope and background of the game I would stay away from anything resembling rap or rock. As for vocals, I would point to Galactic Civilizations II expansion Dark Avatar (during the startup window). You may consider operatic music for the battle scenes (think of

I actually really like (aka hate) Galactic Civ II's way of dealing with one of the AI characters getting a beat-down: surrender to the enemy of the person who is beating you down. There has been many a game where I thought I was going to take candy from a baby but suddenly found all their planets belonged to the next bigger kid on the block (including all their resources and newfound planets at their disposal). A great way to quickly change the dynamics of the game (usually to your disadvantag

To elaborate a little (at least on the Advent): not necessarily a ‘mount full of marbles’ accent but a subtle but clearly-there accent, my personal favorite being Czech (sorry, old girlfriend was Czech and her accent drove me wild—who are you to judge me!?). Seeing how they are into psych, consider a lilting language (one that uses much inflection, such as Asiatic languages): again, something that would easily be recognizable but be sufficiently different from standard English to be obviously d

This already is a great game that you could package up and sell as is! What is really great about it is that the developers are open to fan input. Just a few ideas regarding game ‘personality’: You need many more voices in the game! A great game can look lame in some respects because of this weakness (i.e. The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion). Not only add more voices but add more variety to the responses when ships are clicked. Moreover, throw some female voices in the mix for the
