I do think they should do another round of beta. All the brouhaha surrounding game balance aside, I think the mini-dump issue is downright game-breaking for some people at the moment. Then again, maybe they have that fixed internally.

Sounds fair enough. On the LF thing, I've found that 'usually' LF's are all but ignored during a larger battle of mixed fleets (I guess the AI will target them occasionly-what triggers this I dunno). So you can usually get them into position in the rear/flanks and hammer away at the LRF's with impunity. I guess that's 'supposed' to be what, the HC's job mid-late/late game?
For late game fleet engagements (mixed fleets), I was wondering if it is actually worthwhile to heavily micro your fleet. I generally found it most useful just to fleet focus fire on the defensive support cruisers then work from there, using my combined fleet to focus fire whatever target I feel is the priority after that (Usually a cap ship, unless it's a crazy AI going rambo with a titan) I tried to do use the counter web thing and micro my bombers to the heavy C's,
Nothing wrong with comp stomps. Nothing wrong with preferring human opponents. There is a problem with competitive MP players being to God damn full of themselves thinking they are the saviors, masters, and commanders of every genre of video games this side of single player RPG's. No need to go into someones room that wants to start up a comp stomp and calling them a looser or worse. Well, unless it's Xbox live-then that&
Yeah, I was playing a 4 on one comp stomp checking out the VR titan and the advent AI did something like that. I actually had a moment of hesitation thinking it was going to suicide the whole mess in some space version of a kamakazi strat using that blow up ability. But ended up just getting stuck in that back and forth phase jump thing they do sometimes.
Yes, the Vas need some tweaking. Always have been nasty when played skillfully end game, and I'd agree it's a bit overboard at the moment. But.... Where not the forums going ape over the TEC Rebs teching up to the rogue ability and going all mad land grab? Like "Oh woe is me, the end of the game is nigh! All is lost!" nuts? Yeah, you could argue it 'is' that bad at the moment, but not wholly un-fixable. <
I do agree some tweaking needs to be done. I don't know that I would call it "horribly broken" at the moment however. Part of the problem is some of the old standby strats have gone to the wayside a bit, and people are going nuts. For instance- I for one shed no tears for the LRF spamers getting hosed by vettes. Cry me a damn river. Not that things like that don't need a bit more balance (having scout frigates as a solid vette cou
Did he replace his music files and rocked some 1980's midi synth? lol.
I take it this is not how you planned to announce this eh?
Yeah it would, ever try scuttling an entire mine field you want to reposition? It's a bloody mini game in and of itself. And not one of those fun and charming mini games either.
Is there anyway to force every unit of a particular type to activate an ability For instance, the Vasari missile frigate, to have them all selected in a gravity well and have them all activate siege/long range mode? -Tabbing through and manually doing it for every unit is beyond my patience level.
