Explain to me exactly how a ranking system would even work in Sins? I mean you have small, medium, large and custom maps. then you have games with and without pirates. You can almost win the game with a good economy and using the Pirates. However I do agree with the AI being updated to surrender. But i just see that a rankings system could be/will be a bad situation in Sins. Now if they implement a system where you could start with a really small map maybe say 6 planets and every player has 1 pl
Any news on fixing the crashes with NVIDIA cards? Currently the game is unplayable for many people who bought the game.
I'd say its some other thing or the specific card. I'm currently playing with an 8600GT Nvidia and have had no problems what so ever. I'm also running the 169 drivers but it could just be my card I guess.
Ditto thanks for the replies.
What about the crew to fly the Cap ships? Only get 16 by default? What do you do to adjust that?
Well I'm mainly wondering how come there's no point value attached to SINS achievements. I'd like to add them to my gamerscore:) Also do any of the Windows Live's game add points to your gamerscores? to anyone who knows thanks in advance.
Well I did it with TEC. I set up 3 fleets of Cap ships. I also accomplished the TEC capital ship one(hadn't done that one) researched just the Civilian tree and got the Achievement for using no Tactical slots as well. I also picked up some black market Achievements I hadn't accomplished yet. Was very fun and took me just under 5:30hrs. I used a custom map with no pirate raids. I pretty much used Culture to lead me to victory. Became quite simple once I nailed my income down. Then the l
Anyone want to hook up on 3/4 around 10pm/22:00 hrs. est? If so look for me on Xfire at kain611. Just wanted to add if not on it might mean I have no power/internet. Sitting in the middle of an Icestorm hitting the Northeast.
Well I'm wondering what race and strategy I should try to do this Achievement with? To me I'd think the Vasari Capital ships would be the best pick but I'm beginning to question if the TEC ones would be better. Also do you think it'd be possible to mix this Achievement with the specific race ones where you only research one side of the tree? Any suggestions or topic debates would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
The way the pirates work is simple. the ships that you see in the gravity well are not the ships that attack you, they are the ships that survived there previous attacks and the original ships at the beginning. When a pirate raid starts the ships warp in from a different star system and then go there target and what ever ships survive and retreat STAY in the pirate base.the back drop for the pirates is that its isn't some small band or a couple random bases. its massive interstellar organi
I had this happen but once the pirate base was wiped it stopped completely. I do agree though that it should maybe be changed in a future patch. Kinda ruins the mystique of the game IMO. sorry for the double post.

Yeah I prefer the Geneforge series by a long shot over the Avernum one. Anyway thanks for the info I already knew but I'm sure there's people who didn't:)
The colonizer Mothership of each race is the best purchase early game IMO. It can fight decent, most have nice abilities, plus when upgraded it can later colonize a lot quicker than a frigate. Also its Antimatter battery is much much bigger.
Just wondering I played the demo of WiC. How's the single player campaign? Is the story worth it? Also hows the multiplayer aspect. Last thing-kain611 xfire
Is this do-able? Easy like? I'd be interested in Real Veon's version, that sounds pretty freaking sweet!!
Why don't you start it Wind and if it catches maybe we can all take a stab at it. Sounds fun and interesting. If the board's activity keeps up it should be fun. Also could expand it to all three races played in multi player by 3 peeps, then they have to do what the board votes on for each person:) Could be interesting....
Hey Kruelgor this seems like a much better strategy. One question though have you looked into the Capital ships that can colonize? This would save you the task of either a.) making a colonizer ship alltogether or b.) only requiring you to make one. Again just a suggestion.
Capital ships can turn the momentum of the war into your favor. For sure![MAGOG]Kruelgor
I thought with your IWIN strategy you didn't use Cap Ships?
Hornedbeast sorry I didn't respond to the original topic but I say definately do the Trekie map. I'd download it seeing how I missed all the good PC Star Trek games:(
Read his posts in the To Explore or not to Explore post in the Strategy section. I was actually starting to see his points. After reading his posts in this thread, he's in the 12-17 range.
I'm going to agree with both points. Against the AI ____ The Greats ( sorry too lazy to check spelling of your name) strategy will probably work very good. Against a thinking opponent it may or may not, depends on the person. Myself I don't see the harm in making one set him on Auto explore and then start the above strategy. Myself I usually make 2 send em out and check on what they send back. Also If your on a BIG map they greatly help out. Small maps they help but not so much. And th
I just want to say thanks for doing this and I can't WAIT!!!! And make sure we get some whiny Rodney Voices to:) And i'm assuming Shepard will be a pilot of......the jumpers? Keep up the great work.
And the Vasari running for 10k years from an unknown or rather forgotten enemy wasn't another subtle hint? I'm telling you Erasmus and Omni will be in an expansion pack. Or rather Synchrony will be. TEC= regular people in dune universe/Advent = a cross between the Bene Gesserit and Honored Matres/ Vasari= back story similear to Honored Matres appearance is created but seems to borrow from the Tleixlu. Also the Advent are similear to the Laxu as well. I hope if Sins does nothing else tha
No BG reference here, Boo would not like it:) I think it's Omnius and Erasmus from the Dune Prequels. Whatever it is I'd have to stack a claim to it being robotic or that it's a sentient being that sends its robotic army to chase the Vasari. Kinda something like they don't care if the robots win just keep the Vas busy so they can't regroup and return. This game needs a story or at least the Galaxy Forge needs an ability that players could make sto
To me reading the race's lore it seems that the Vasari and the Advent both seem to come from the Dune books. By this I mean they both kinda borrow bits from the Honored Matre's history if you consider Brian Herbert's and Kevin Anderson's work cannon. To this end I believe and want at least 1 more if not 2 more races or "sentinent beings" in an expansion pack. I also ( if not fixed in a patch) would like a fleshed out campaign mode and would like all races to start at Neutrality towards each othe
