Some basic forums are about half setup, should be ready soon. Sorry for the perpetual delays. As far as what is being brought up recently, I think any such rules would certainly overcomplicate the game. The idea is to keep the basic rules rather simple so that the scope can become large without adding extreme complexity. Also, as noted in the original post, this will be ENTRENCHMENT ONLY! The community is small enough as it is, we can't afford to cater to the

I'd still like to get the forums up this weekend, though perhaps Monday as well. I work 70-80 hours per week and this is my one weekend a month that I have to really relax, so I've been playing Sins more than setting up servers for it :)
We do still need an Advent faction, though as I recall Citizen and Ender have already joined Ue. Carbon , I think you have most of the players haha. Nice recruiting tactics ;)
Careful, this has already been a horrible weekend! If there are as many disasters tomorrow as there were today, .... ugh.
As I said in Carbon's recruitment thread (oops!) the boards will be up this weekend. Something came up last Sunday night when I planned to set 'em up. Look for an e-mail!
Awesome work Carbon! Could probably use some editing, but... ;) Sorry I didn't get to setting up the boards last weekend, some stuff came up Sunday night when I was planning to do it. This weekend is looking good though and Carbon motivates me :D
Status Update: We're up to 13 people now, including a forum admin, which is great news! I'll setup forums this weekend so everyone can start talking some more. I think right now we only have one committed faction leader, but someone else also expressed interest, so getting the factions started in terms of lore and recruiting would be a good start. Jody, I appreciate the initiative on setting up the temporary boards, but I have reason to avoid vBulletin and am looking
We currently have 9 fine sinners committed to this. Tell your friends so we can get the rest!
Annatar , I know you didn't mean race. I was saying we could start with one faction per race. Having more than that may not be possible. If we have the numbers for it though, awesome. ShadowMastiff , I'll get some forums setup for us as soon as we have the minimum sign-ups. Until then, the best thing you can do is convince more people to join :D Thanks for the offer though, we'll be needing a lot more help later!
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT! Like what you've read so far? Then check this out! Okay folks, it seems like we have enough people interested to make an official inquiry here on the boards. The way I see it, we need a minimum of 25 people to start really getting the ball rolling in an official way on this thing. To that end, I have created a form that interested parti
It would be pretty rare to have cheaters because the league would be pretty organized and this kind of thing is really easy to catch through replays and end-game stats.
Very true, I was more curious than anything.
Galaxy Forge can, however, set players with different starting buildings or whatnot. So, for example, if we decide that the defender starts with a small pre-built fleet it can set that to player numbers and we'd just have to make sure that the d
Annatar , you made some very valid points, thanks for the post. Technically, the sub-factions are already created for us: there are 10 different AI names for each race in the game that are the sub-factions. Awesome, one thing down. I think it should stick to solar systems exclusively. Even 5v5 can fit comfortably on a big enough single-star map. The added bonus is we could have characteristics pe
Thank you to those who have given feedback and put forth offers to help make this happen; I am very excited! Here are some of my initial thoughts, which I think may cover some of the questions / issues brought up: Yes, we will need sub-factions from the main races; we can make these up ourselves. We pick an arbitrary number, say 3 sub-factions per race, and then people who are interested in those races may head up the factions, name them, create basic lor
Ah, I'm so pleased to find another SCL member, nobody ever knows what I'm talking about. I was in FedCom, at least you aren't a tube-born ;) You're correct in that the Battletech Universe is more established than Sin's, to say the very least. A galaxy map in Sins would look like... whatever we want it to! Or we just steal as much as possible from BT and repurpose it :P Edit: And yes, it was ages ago... well, about a decade anyway. And I'm pretty sure I've been trying to bring it back
When I was a younger man, before I became the old and decrepit 24 year old before you, there was a little-known game not much unlike this one. It was fun, nerdy, made by a small yet very active company (before Microsoft got it, I guess), and had a small, dedicated community of players. Okay, not "Holy crap there are 200 people on ICO at the same time?!" small, but you get the idea. The game was Mechcommander and one of the leagues formed around it went by the name of Steel Command.
