Great job guys! Your efforts towards helping the modding community have me particularly impressed. That you could continue to improve your already great game, develop new "micro" expansions which revolutionize (in a good way) the gameplay, and adjust the nature of the game itself so as to give the modders an easier time blows me away. You continuously demonstrate your great attitudes and respect for the people buying your game and I love it. I look forward to playing

Looks interesting. Downloading now. :CONGRAT:
I just want to say, the reason I posted is that I care about this game as well, and don't want to see the community split into two camps at war with each other as one sees in so many other games. Believe it or not, I do respect what you are saying, based on how much you play the game. I'd just like the competitive crowd to be a little less elitist and a little more diplomatic. If you think you know the game better than anyone, alright then. You may even be right. Don't rub it in the faces o
This whole topic has gotten ridiculous. Haeso (and every other person that agrees and defends you), you have a point, its just that your tone is so antagonistic that you are turning most people against you, regardless of whether or not what you say is true. By continuing to be such an ass-hat you are making people think that anything you say is inherently wrong. You say you care about this game and want to help fix it's problems, and also that you don't give a damn what people think about you
I don't really care how the hell you want to play, I am a casual player, and I like to think of myself as proficient in this game. That being said, I do not use "winning strategies," as I am not in it to win. I don't think this is a "superior game style." I just find that it suits me best. I have my own experience with competitive gaming, and still prefer to win by far, but care more about the experience now-a-days than I used to. I play games such as sins to spend time with my frie
If you would read the post more closely, I am not talking about making a TC, I am saying that I see possibilities in it becoming one over time. I do see enough changes that could be made to sins to make it more "Mass Effect-y" that it would be considered a TC, however that is beyond the scope of what I have in mind. All that I personally plan to do at some point is to model the Generic Battleship, modify the model of that ever so slightly to create the carrier (as is what the Carriers
Sorry for the double post, but my formatting didn't seem to go in the first time =\ I am just using this as an opportunity to voice my thoughts about the potential of a Mass Effect mod. I remember playing ME around its release and going back and forth between that and the SoaSE beta inn my free time, and finding lots of similarities and possibilities. The two have similar methods of interstellar travel (in terms of what the Iron Engine is capable of doing.) Since we are
I am just using this as an opportunity to voice my thoughts about the potential of a Mass Effect mod. I remember playing ME around its release and going back and forth between that and the SoaSE beta in my free time, and finding lots of similarities and possibilities. The two have similar methods of interstellar travel (in terms of what the Iron Engine is capable of doing.) Since we are all familiar (hopefully) with the way that units travel in Sins, I will just explain the ME side and let
Using it as a pirate battleship is awesome and all, but I want to stress that this is about asking if anyone has the original model to release to the entire modding community as a RESOURCE for such things as said battleship. Furthermore, I feel it appropriate we have IC's permission before such a thing as their work is released to the general public.
You can just google image search sins of a solar empire and it is on the first page. It has a terran planet framed in the background, and is pointing downward on its axis.
I miss the thing a little bit as well. It was the first ship I ever built in beta 2 (or maybe it was already built, I don't remember =/). I am making this request after looking at an old Sins Screenshot, and thinking "ahh, I remember yooou!" =)
This may sound like a stupid request, but does anyone still have the old Kol Model from Beta? Now I am a big fan of teh new model (my head about exploded in joy when I saw it), but I think that as it is already optimized for play in sins, with appropriate hard points and statisitics, we could find an appropriate place, as possibly a "cannon fodder Battleship," cheaper and weaker than the other classes. Or perhaps as one of these Pirate Battleships some people have been wanting to see
