Hi JasonFJ, great work on the mod. The latest version has a lot of crashes though. I hope you can get that Death Star mesh done. The Death Star mesh would work as an Imperial Base far better than the TEC model that is being used now. Of course, the fact that it would be stuck in one gravity well would kind of break the lore a bit.
Thank you so much Bloodember!
Hi JasonFJ. I've been trying to convert your ship entity files to text...and am having a HARD time for some reason. Do you have a link to your ship stats? It would be nice to see what type of stats, armor and attack types your different ships use. As it is, I have no idea what types of armor and attack types your ships use = hard to maximize the effectiveness of the different ships.
Thanks for the response Jason. I understand now where you were coming from with your mod in regards to balance issues. As for a Golan III on its side....that isn't all that bad. If memory serves, the bottom of the Golan base points towards the planet, right? So it is really upright, and everything else in the game is sideways...lol. Anyway, the Golan base on its side would be fine, but also using the TEC or Alliance bases would work just as well.
I played several long games with the Empire....excellent mod! Rock solid stable too! A few minor gripes though. I'll list them for you in case you care what I think ;P 1. You are using the same models for the Imperator Star Destroyer and the Imperial II Star Destroyer. I don't understand why you would do that when EvilleJedi is letting you use his models. 2. The Victory Star Destroyer should hav
Still checking in from time to time to see how things are going. I'm amazed at EvilleJedi's dedication in squashing each bug one after the other.
Hmmm, JasonFJ has a Death Star model mesh available for download. Seems he doesn't mind others using it as long as they do some work on making it better.
And Para, when you install Entrenchment, it doesn't install over Sins, so you can play vanilla sins or Entrenchment while Entrench is installed
Lol, thanks John! How've you been these days anyway? What have you been working on lately? As for being laid off, it gives me time to enjoy life and relax for a while. No kids or wife means I don't have money worries. Also, keep in mind that I am Canadian and we spen
I've gotten Entrenchment (thanks again Yarlen!) but haven't installed it because I am more interested in having the mod work properly. Once you release your never version, you can count on me to spend entire days play testing it. I have plenty of time to do so....gotta love being laid off!
Seems quiet here...too quiet! I guess most of us are just waiting for the next Sins of a Galactic Empire beta version at this point.
Hi EviliroN, it isn't that the caps are made smaller, it is that the scale of all ships is reduced. So, SSDs are still many times larger than Star Destroyers which in themselves are much larger than cruisers. It really works out better this way for 2 main reasons. Ship sizes look more 'realistic' (ie, less ridiculous) compared to planets and grav wells. Also, ship pathfinding works much better now compared to when ships were oversized.
Played several hours on Gateway with 5 AI Empire players and me as Alliance. This is the first time I played with any race besides Empire without expiriencing ANY minidumps (well, I had two while exiting the game...but who cares since I was done playing). The only difference between prior Alliance player games and this one, was that I DIDN'T build any MC80A capital ships. Oh, the Alliance also kicks the Empire's rear in terms of ship quality
I've had some minidumps occur while exiting the game as well.
Hi EvilleJedi, just listened to your interview at shift queue. Good job! If anybody else here wants to hear it it, it is at http://www.shiftqueuerts.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=84:shift-queue-rts-review-vi-return-of-the-qevillejediq&catid=35:news&Itemid=53 In this interview, EvilleJedi elaborates on his vision of Sins of a Galactic Empire. It is certainly worth a listening to. <p
??? Destiny14, oversensitive much..? HahnHolio was totally friendly and replied right away for you. There is no reason to take his last comment as an insult...he obviously meant it as 'hang in there and keep checking in for updates!'.
I'll send Sluggo and Thuggo down to Ion Bolt's house to have a 'talk' with him....that should do the trick!
As far as I can see, minidumps sometimes happen when I use a ship expirience point to select a new ability. Sometimes it happens when I go to use a ship ability. And sometimes it just happens....for no reason I can see. I should note that I am finding the Ion Bolt ability causes MORE than its fair share of minidumps....of course, it could just be me.
I tried a game with 'show debris' off and it didn't seem to help.
I only ONCE saw the AI trying to build an Executor Dreadnaught....but they were a long way from completion and I blew up their Capital Ship Factory. As it is, the AI WASTES so much time and $ on crap Victory Star Destroyers that are effectively about 1/5 or 1/6 the power of Imperator and Imperial SDs. The Vics usually last a few seconds once the fighting starts...poor things. Is it just me, or does the AI spam far too many weak ships.
I've noticed that there is an issue with the Solar Radiation ability. The ability is only supposed to recharge AM within a certain range....however, sometimes ships will leave that range BUT will STILL keep experiencing a recharge. It is like they are still in range, even though they they've left the zone. When researching the top tier Armor research, one of the benefits is MASS REDCUTION.....what exactly does this do? Does it make your ships turn/accelerate faster?<
Thanks Blair. Good to be back!
Any idea why the Empire is so much more stable than the other Star Wars factions?
Played a bunch of games on GATEWAY (no pirates there). I still got dumps with alliance/republic/CIS players.....not a single dump with only Empire players.
Any attempt to view a Mandator Dreadnaught crashes the game.
