I'm still getting the "string not found" for most things in the event log. I've tried the suggested fix but that only worked for some of the events but not all.But other than that the game is running great.
I third this whole post
I was watching titan a.e last night and I was thinking if you guys are going to have terror stars for evil civs why not make a tech that creates a ship that can change dead planets into high pq planets for good civs like the titan in the movie.
I really wish the fleet battles would have looked like some of the battles in the game Homeworld 2.The proportions of the ships seemed more realistic and the way the ships were animated during combat was more exciting. Now I just disable the combat viewer for the most part.
when will 1.7 beta 2 be available for download because I don't see it on sdc?
I have the same issue also but all my event log says is "string not found"?
It sounds like not all your files got updated. You can try going into the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Stardock\Drengin.net\GalCiv2 and change the version for DarkAvatar to something earlier than 1.7 and then re-start Stardock Central. That should cause it to let you download the beta again. Try using US-1 if you're not using that server. I tried this fix the other day and it didn't seem to work,I'm still getting "string not found message".Any other ideas or should I wai
I downloaded the new beta last night and started a new game, and was interested in the new events feature but all it says for each new event is string not found? Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
I would like to see some defeated civs get reintroduced to the game via a rebellion on their original home planet.
how about a mega event where a hero is born and the ship that he controls will give attack defence and h/p bonus in a 5 par sec radius to all allied ships in the area.kind of like a moving military starbase.
hey carielf I e-mailed you my debug early this morning just checking to see if you got it ok.
I'll try to send it tonight when i get back from work.
I don't know if anyone has made mention of this yet but I have installed the 1.6b4 and i've noticed that my asteroid minning bases have vanished? other than this bug so far it seems to be running fine.
frame rates was my only real beef about this game, i am now beefless. great job on improving the game.
I'm playing my third game, now on a tougher level, and I keep getting threats from other civs and I want to know if I can do the same?
i've had the exact same problem, but everything else seems ok so far with the 1.6 beta.
i installed the 1.6 beta and there were two terran space minning ships stacked beside my yor fleet, when i selected my fleet the space minning ships disapeared.i dont know if anyone else has had this problem yet but it looks like a bug.besides that the game is running much better now good work.
i was fiddeling with the specular intensity slider today and it was inconclusive as to weather or not it was causing any framerate problems.the framerate drops in my games are very inconsistant so now i'm not sure why they have returned to normal.the first game i played i tuned the bump mapping off and that helped because when ever i scrolled over stacked drengin ships or certain other single drengin ship designs the framerates would drop.this second game i played without the drengins, turned bu

I definetly think you are on the right track with space ship jewellry causing the problem with lag,I noticed the same problems in my games.until they fix the problem with the upcoming 1.6 patch i have to continue to play with some graphics options turned off.hopefully we won't have to wait too long.
i don't know if this counts as a bug but when i was playing the campain mode the framerates were good until the drengin created a troop transport then they dropped dramatically.i then attacked the ship with a nearby fleet the combat viewer came up, no framerate problems, the ship was destroyed, i then go back to the ui then everthing is good again.what gives? are the drengin that evil they make my framerate drop or is there something about their ships that take more power to render?are there oth
