Starshatter is an excellent game. You can have a lot of fun with the mission creator the game comes with too. I can't say how many times I've set up various situations that will test the boundaries of a pilot's skills. Try commanding a single Terellian Alliance Devastator-class cruiser against an entire Hegemony battle group. Still, the game does have its drawbacks. It is well known for crashes during the dynamic campaign, and the graphics are beginning to show the game's age. Overall

A Halo mod for Sins would be fine. Halo: First Offensive, which is a Halo mod for Star Wars: Empire at War, is still active. It's allowed to remain in production because it contains space combat, which Halo Wars does not have. I would assume that since Sins is space only, a Halo mod would not be shut down.
Actually, I've heard several times that Homeworld was originally going to be a Battlestar Galactica game, but for some reason it didn't work out so they created their own storyline.
