I bet it'll be Obama by the majority vote, but the electoral one I'm not too sure on. We could end up with another "he that wins the electoral college is more important than he that wins the total votes" It really depends on where the votes fall. As a sidenote/sidetrack, electoral college = fail. The idea that my "vote" could still end up going to the wrong guy drives me up a wall every four years.

Maybe instead of flag locks, you could do a Flag Guardian creep, and therefore the flag would be as secure as you paid for it to be? You could buy more Guardians depending on how much you felt the flag needed, and wether you wanted a group that could handle enemies trying to take it, or just slow them down so you can come back and deal with the problem yourself. Then again, I'm not even a beta player - the idea just popped into my head.
My aren't we antagonistic. Ever take a debate class? "Google it" is not a viable source of proof. Are YOU too lazy to go pull it up to support your point? It's YOUR point, YOU have to defend it. The onus is on not on me to prove your comments, nor google. And, to the poster above me - the reason the real hardline relgious people disavow all knowledge and science is because it's counter to thier beliefs - God created man from dust, remember?
I require copy/paste function in my text windows for PC games. >_ Also, if you save the race, you can open the file in notepad and edit the description and stuff there.
I wish I could've attended the gaming job one. >_>
The best copy protection is a three-tier scheme. 1) Make a good game! FFS!!!!! If your game is crap, people will not want to pay for it. Many games have lost sales not due to people who liked it pirating it opposed to buying... but to people who torrented it, and found out it sucked/was not as advertised/was buggy as hell. If you make a good game, people will pay and support you - if you make a bad game, we'll not only NOT buy it, we'll tell other people not to, and we'll
Yeah, it was definantly a "stop the money bleeding now, this isn't worth it" move. They didn't do Renegade right - Tiberium wasn't going to happen and I knew it. And as a sidenote - Kryo, are you an old-school C&C/Westwood Studios fan? It would explain a lot :D
iN MY OPINION (which is probably not supported by law) buying a game is like buying a book. It does not give me rights to copy the book and sell it, but I can certainly lend it out to a friend when I'm done with it, or just for a short period of time. I can write in the margins, make notes, or use it for toilet paper. The book itself as an object is mine, but the story is not. A game becomes mine - you cannot take it away because you do not like how I've scribbled
Well, it's not for everybody. And I did say better, not perfect - if you didn't like the mechanics, no patch is going to save it - a mod might, but not a patch from EA. Something I've learned is a t3 planet has more building spaces from the terra score than you can place - those extra spaces are for cannons. Cannons work wonderfully to ward off generic pirates (and raiders on red spice planets don't even matter, yawn). If you're at war you probabaly want to come back
Yeah. If you were an adult I'd tell you to buy a second copy, but I know how wierd it can be with a family issue like that. Just buy another Stardock game or six down the road and be sure to tell Frogboy and Kryo how awesome they are.
Super Isolationist is such a great ability - until you're trying to fight the Yor. Soultion: Get influence Starbases, a lot of them. Super Isolationist only occurs in Yor influence.
Play the new beta - all the AIs have been ramped up. I had to dial back to tough - they all put up a decent fight.
I too, use the 3d rendering a lot. The only time I zoom out to "icon level" is when I'm searching for something or planning out a grand strategy (like a plan of attack, muahahaha!)
Proof or it didn't happen.
My little brothers call each other noobs when they do something stupid - it makes me laugh so hard, I think that's why I let them come over so much. It's interesting the way that they're computer literate at that age. It's also more than a little scary.
It's flagged as 1.99RC or somesuch. It's a beta, not the official 2.0.
The AIs in general seem to be smarter - but I have noticed they seem to look at Extreme Colonization later than they used to. Good in my book, they tend to go for it roughly around when I do instead of sitting back with laser I and going "yup, that's good enough" and spending the next year getting the advanced colonization techs.
I'm waiting for my next computer build to go to 64-bit. By then I'm hoping most things are compatible - and I'll be actually wanting DDR3 RAM instead of wworrying about the latency issues with it. I only have 2gb of RAM - but it's running at some insanely high speed I've Oc'd it to, and a quad-core processor (all four cores at 3ghz) so I can't complain about anything. My only issue is DX10 being locked to Vista, but that's not my computer's fault, is it. >_>
Regardless, finger-pointing doesn't solve problems - save that for the investigation once things are okay. I say let them burn. It may hurt us, but a record of saving the butt of people who failed in business will hurt too. Fact: If there is a necessary service like this that must be provided, someone else will step up and provide it. The joy of capitalism - no one and no business is indespensable.
My problem with Palin is that there were more qualified female Republican's McCain could have chosen - more qualified, less polarizing, and pandering to the Religious Right. Don't change this into a "the democratic candidate is unqualified tooooo" whine, either. Obama, qualified or not, won an election - Palin was hand-picked. So it is vastly different. If Palin was a man she wouldn't have been chosen, either. Her credentials are low and she was barely vetted -
I have. I admit it, I'm one of those people the developers don't like who downloads a game to determine its worth to me. Honestly, I wish I'd done it with Spore, and I did not - I went out and bought it and I do not think I'll see my fifty bucks worth on that game. It's not awful, but it's not a fifty dollar title to me. If I had downloaded it, I'd have deleted it and be waiting for the pricedrop to around 30. Some games, especially by hit or miss game compan
Eh, I was on the fence and EA still sucks. I just have more time for GalCiv2 now.
Serial codes are great. They've worked well enough for years. Activation - I'm not so sure about at all. Not such a big deal in the first time you run the game, but programs that call home = big no-go for mee. I think that digital distribution is the real future, so requiring a person to be logged in to the equivilant of Steam or Impulse is probabaly the way to go about with that, not an obscure function that hides somewhere in the system.
That's insane, I didn't know they still put thier insane DRM on the Steam variants. So much for buying Warhead.
All things about espionage aside -
I am absolutely sure most AI algorithms were revamped (sic!) or even, were radically changed (re-sic!) in this update. It shows.
I have to say, yeah. The AIs are insanely smart suddenly, and I am LOVING it. I can get a good game with massive AI empires on Tough - something previously unheard of for me.... Someone went in and did some serious code
