It's not THAT particular software, it's all of them. I'm a non-up-to-date, no-social-network-member user who has some strange, nostalgic ideas about property and such stuff. I admit I did copy some stuff when C64 was still "the thing", but afterwards I bought my games and software always. I actually likeld owning them. Ever since I made one exception from that: I accepted (grudingly) that I would have to use Impulse to play Stardock games. The sole reason for that was that

Hello, I'm probably guilty of not following stuff so closely, what what did happen here? I got used to Impulse. fine. Sometime ago along the way that obviously changed to Gamestop which for me somehow seems much worse. But fine. Now 8 month (!!!) after I got the message that my preorder for Rebellion got charged (wasn't the game supposed to go live last year?) I remembered it again and - wohoo....apparently it went live a few weeks ago - and so I wanted to inst
well, I assume I belong to those 2 or 3. Hopefully you set your alarm clock this time and we meet later :-)
Hello! as it's quite illusionary trying to read through all the 110 pages: is there a post hidden somewhere in this thread which gives some overview about the different ships and their abilities? Beside that: a really wonderful mod indeed you created here! Even though I thought after my first few hours - where I picked of course (!/?) Borg as my race for the coolness factor - that it must be extremly unbalanced as they were so extremly powerful. But t
Had 2 pleasant coop games the last few days, thanks tthewman and Miss.ter :) Could give new fun to the game until the expansion gets out - its just a pity that its usually quite hard to find somebody on ICO for that. Anyway, maybe somebody who's interested and available reads that: What I'd really like to do would be a coop game that isn't that "quick". I'd like to play a game with a partner on a bigger map, with more opponents etc, which would m
I'd love some games against the AI as well. I live in Europe. ICO name: Herodias
What hinders you to adjust the current Caps to your wishes? I sometimes generare a "clumsy beast" by simply adjusting the values of an existing cap I won't build anyway. That usually gets ~100-150Logistic points, ~4 times the original build cost with Metal being raised the most, long build times. I mod it to be very slow (50-100 usually). It gets ~ 1.5-2 times the defense values (armor, shields) and is being made very slow (~half the speed and 1/4 the acceleration)
1 thing I'd really hope for in a sequel, given a few more years of tech-development would be a real 3D environment. possibly even without fixed warp-lanes. so basically as realistic as possible. And throw in real 3D visuals on top... Should still be a game of course, so with all due simplifications. A possible scenario could for instance be that only "huge" ships can actually go FTL, so in systems you would have small ships as "homefleets" whereas you would only have very
We have free healthcare? what kind of rumour is that? ;-) Well, actually you might have free healthcare if you are unemployed and poor and whatnot. Then yes, you actually have healthcare.
thanks for your anwers. I'm living on the old continent. player base at my peak times wasn't great 2 years ago, and I doubt this will have changed by much... Usually my games take several days/weeks (well~10h effective play time) usually as I never liked small maps. I'm more the MoO/GalCiv-playertype who likes the massive strategic clashes and not so much the "win in a hurry" ;-P Anyway. gonna see how my current game turns out (so far the AIs are just leveling my Caps yet agai
I tried ICO a few times in the past, but the games there aren't really made for me. I rarely can commit several hours a piece (kids etc) and the extremly fast "rush" games are nothing I enjoy whatsoever, even if I might even be able to compete somewhat there. So I guess I'm stuck with Singleplayer, as I can pause/leave the game whenever I got/want to ... As you mentioned Diplomacy: I didn't want to buy that, but tougher AIs sound definitely interesting (so far I thought its only some
Ah...found in some announcement that you can nly build more than 1 starbase around stars. So incidently I didn't try to build more than 1 on a planet yet and just assued you could build an infinite number ;-)
Hi, I haven't played the game for almost 2 years now ... but recently got back to it. 2 points bug me so I look for some insight here :) - Modding I used to do some minor-tweaking modding when I played it in the past, like changing some ship/ability attributes. There used to be some folder under "c:/.../documents/" in which all the game data files were and where I could with a simple editor adjust some values in the files. Or where I could modify which planets shall be
just for the record and speaking for me: I didnt want to critize anything about the Atlantians. I just was pretty proud on myself when I beat those 3 "unfair" AIs, but after I was completly run over as normal Vasari I got some doubts wether it was my "skill" or just the race that made me win ;P
Maybe many people just don't want to play it online when "rushing" seems to be the only way to go? People like me ... ;P
so, if I interprete those 2 answers correctly I come to the conclusion that it wasn't my superior skills that let me win the game vs the 2 unfair AIs, but the choosing of the Altarian race. damnit ;P
Thanks for the description of changing the stuff with the graveyards. Actually it's quite easy once you know where and for what you got to look. And while I do like the idea with the graveyards, I think I just will play w/o them for now. I got 1 little follow-up question: maybe I just got too little imagination but what planettype is "City"? I don't think I ever stumpled upon a "City" planet. When I took out the graveyards I overwrote it with 2x"City" but in my current game
thanks. I havent attempted any modding, but I understood the first part of your "instructions": And remove every line under WeightedRandom, Random, RandomTrue, etc... that says: orbitBodyType "AsteroidGrave" But fixing its number in orbitBodyTypeCount # - what do you mean by this? "fixing its number"? do you mean setting it to zero or something? (I havent looked at the file and can't do so right now, so maybe its going to be obvious when I see it, but still... ;P
I'm not sure if somebody else spoke about this problem before - at least a searching for some posting in that direction didnt lead to anything (but of course, the search function in this forum here is the worst I have seen in the past 5+ years) The problem I'm having is with the ship-graveyards from "Sins plus" I find the concept awesome and I do like the taking over the battleships, but the AI seems to have a serious problem with those graveyards. - in every game I ha
haven't had any problems with AIs so far, actually I found it too nice. The game before my current one has been 3 unlocked teams at start: me+TEC-AI, 2xVas-AI, 2xAdv-AI, AIs all at hard. Sure, I got quite a few treates broken, but more often enough they immediately accepted a new offer for ceasefire and stuff. found that kinda stupid tbh. And yes, try to do easy missions whenever you can, so you can afford to pass on missions that are hard to achieve.
Ummm, there has been some misunderstanding. I'm NOT playing TEC this time, I play a custom race of the Mod , the "Atlantians", which are - to my understanding - a hybrid of Vasari and Advent. So I myself do have RA and my superweapon is a cannon that disables orbital structures. Anyway...I gave it another shot yesterday and while it was the complete opposite of "having fun", I was able to break the stalemate eventually. It meant ~1.5h of "cycling" 3-4 Vasari-planets, destroying as m
First let me say that I certainly am no "pro" in this game. Furthermore I only played TEC so far and for the first time picked another race. I use the 7-DeadlySins-Mod and picked the Atlantians for my race, but I guess for those who dont use that mod, you could compare it with the Vasari in the standard game for the "problem" I got (even though I never played Vasari ;P ) I started a game on a Large Random 1-Star-Map, so ~40 planets (or 50?) vs 3x unfair AI: TEC,
Sure they can. you just need a big enough fleet ;P In my most recent game the 3rd Pirate base had 67 Corsairs and tons of other stuff. (First 2 bases were only minor nuisances, which had to go because they were located very badly..I always would have had to go through it to get to a cluster of Planets) I had 10 Caps (lvl 4-8 at start, all types) and about 30 HCs, 10 Cielo, 30 Lrms, 30 Cobalts (give or take some at each type). In the end I had lost about 1/4-1/3 of my fleet, no C
Now a battle between 2 or 3 such fleets would be ...umm...fun to watch ;P
I don't know why, but for me the game is almost unplayable in windowed mode, while I have not the slighest issues in fullscreen mode.
