Will just provide my thoughts on your Pirates question. This is when playing against AI only. I initially hated them butnow believe they can be your best ally. Early game - make sure they go and annoy one of your opponents by outbidding. Mid game - I sometimes let them fight me, mainly so I can get my Capitals experience up. I got my first 10 rated ship by doing this. End game - outbid for them to go to your opponent and soon after invade the pirates have left

I can just imagine the captain in charge of Pearl harbour on the morning of the attack, complaining about the spam of approx 100 Najakima B5Ns shredding through his fleet in minutes. It's just not fair...

I'm doing fine against the AI but know I will suck in multi-player. That is why I was wondering if there is or maybe a clan that exists to school new players to the multiplayer part of the game.

I am a new player who is loving the game but is still learning the ropes fighting the AI. Now, I want to go multiplayer but don't want to walk straight into a bunch of players that will totally own me, thus pushing me back into the single player game. I know it is early days, but is anyone thinking of setting up a school clan? This could run on similar lines to Allegiance's CADET school or Eve's University. Scathson, I guess you haven't come across Stardock before - they actually listen. A better attitude to start usually equals a better response.

Hi pantatkodok, You have a choice of how to colonize a planet - get a colonizable capital ship or use the colonizable frigates. Personally, I like to use my free capital ship as my colonizable ship. Hope this helps Zinq.
