works fine for me. new patch has introduced zero problems. connectivity is smooth and easy in the Custom Games. i played 4 games last night, each with 8 or 10 players. no drops or disconnects.

sounds cool. needs tweaking. 3 different "dances" is a bit repetitive. slightly more varied play for the Shamaness form would be good. the Dance of Shields seems like it has the best potential, after some rebalancing. the other two seem a bit boring. Blood Ritual just comes across as a strictly worse Ooze. sure it deals more damage, but at extravagant cost to self. Dance of Blades as an offensive buffing ability has better potential but needs to be more effective
everybody has to consider exposure. just how much you can get away with depends on but there's still a fundamental difference between these 2 playstyles. a kiting/harassing/dancing playstyle deliberately overexposes for very brief periods of time to get in opportunistic attacks and then withdraws back to safety before bad things happen. you loathe conflicts on open ground because you can't adequately defend yourself if you ne
its not an RTS. its an action-strategy game with minor roleplayer elements (insofar as you level up and buy items). its basically the same type of game as the Defense of the Ancients mod for Warcraft 3. if you think of it like a traditional RTS game you won't get it at all. it has more in common with Team Fortress 2 than with Warcraft 3. its a team based multiplayer action game. the format of this game is "hero arena" as opposed to "cl
why don't you just read the original post again and think about what it really says. 1) you don't rage quit. 2) you don't bully or talk trash. 3) you're not a sore loser or an arrogant winner. 4) you've bothered to learn the basics of gameplay. 5) you play to have fun, because its a game. thats what the post says. i have NO IDEA how you now think i'm some kind of elitist or bully or noob
so apparently some of you are having new crash bugs related to patch 1.01. fair enough. you can help Stardock and GPG fix these bugs by posting them as bug reports in the Tech Support Forum. it can be found here: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/forum/526 please do so. the general forum is not such a great place to blow your top and bitch about the fac
i concur. it shall be called the "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" forum.
circle of fire is like venom spitting on everything standing in it. if your objective was to make them NOT stand in it then you gained something significant, because most people will very much desire to avoid it. 10 seconds isn't long enough to replicate the "lock it down while i go somewhere else" function of a flag lock. what you get out of it is the ability to maintain control of a flag even when 2 DG's come and challenge your lane. <p
my previous post diplomatic but i wasn't merely trying to assuage both sides. Kestrel, you did an excellent job elaborating on the issue at hand but i was trying (obtusely) to get at something that was implied in Zech's post as well. some DG's and some teams don't dance, or shouldn't anyway. if you are playing a certain type of demigod it is your interest to simply stand your ground. you shouldn't ever get involved in a positioning or
pure fire TB has plenty of good uses. Area denial is strong. a well placed Circle of Fire is almost as good as a flag lock for map control purposes. on certain maps there are crossroads where multiple creep waves go through at the same time (center lane in Cataract, the X shaped crossroad in Zikurat, the + shaped cross near the base entrance in Exile). a persistent AoE effect in these areas is just unbelieavably strong. this has alot o
i'd say both Kestrel and Zechnophobe are right but not 100% of the time for either case. some teams should dance, others should tank and spank. it depends on your demigod, equipment, and the circumstances of the moment.
happened to me TWICE IN A ROW last night. and the other 3 games i had got screwed up by disconnects or rage quits. so ya, went 0 for 5 last night on having a decent game. sigh. i feel ya Tassadar.
alt+click will have your Demigod attack the nearest target they find in the direction of the point you clicked on. once that target is dead they begin moving towards the point again unless they find a new target.
there's actually an in game tip on the loading screen that says you can stack multiple items of the same "type". also, you hardly have to read the forums to figure it out. you could also, i dunno, try doing it in game. experimentation is a great way to learn a new game. its intended behavior and is not imbalanced. if they wanted a paper doll system they would have used one. they just give generic slots because they intend for you to stack multiple items that give simila
it works fine. connection speed and stability is improved 1000% from launch. they also re-coded their NAT facilitator and added a proxy server system so players who previously could not connect are now able to connect to one another.
a small mana cost for Ooze might be a good fix. the current costing scheme allows Beast to pay for Ooze too easily during the endgame. the health cost is well balanced for lower levels but becomes almost totally insignificant if you're running an item setup like this one: * Blood of the Fallen * Hauberk of Life * Narmoth's Ring * Unbreakable Boots *Nimoth Chestguard * Mageslayer (or Ashkandor if you're really wealthy) at l
i see 2 things going on with UB. first is Inner Beast is a 10% multiplicative bonus to damage. because it is multiplicative it is not especially strong until the late game but at that point (when base attack damage is high anyway and you probably have some good weapon damage gear as well) it becomes an incredibly large bonus. its a backloaded scaling mechanism, one of the few in the game (most are very frontloaded, all of the direct damage spells for example).&n
Prison is fine. its a good arena style map. Cataract is the best all around map. simple, well balanced, and the right size. Crucible is a crime against humanity and should be removed from the game.
praising is, as is parsing. mostly i catch about 40% of the words in a post by si1foo and then creatively assemble that into a grammar i understand. the meanings i interpret are nearly always close enough for jazz.
pretty good guide, and very verbose so there's alot of food for thought here. i think some minor corrections are due though. regarding Regulus, you mentioned that he has above average speed and auto-attack damage. this isn't true. his move speed is totally average. he moves at 6.0 (base move speed of Reg and 4 other DGs) and has no ways of increasing his speed except from equipment. its totally average. his auto-attacks are actually WEAKER than ot
regulus lacks defensive moves, he has below average health and armor gains per level, his unmodified auto-attacks deal significantly less damage than the other Assassins. he has no interrupts. his abilities have high mana costs. he has the least amount of group support abilities in the game (in terms of buffs and debuffs). this is a very long list of weaknesses for such an "overpowered" demigod.
it would be nice if Impulse had a reputation tracker similar to Forum Karma or seller rep on Ebay. that way when you gave someone a GG at the end of a match you'd really mean it since it would show up on their player record.
inexperienced players dislike Regulus because they're bad at anticipating Snipes. they're overextending without realizing it because they aren't keeping track of where Regulus is or how much he might be able to Snipe them for. the counter is the simplest thing possible. get more health. or just retreat sooner. Snipe is just a harrassment skill (like Fireball or Venom Spit) if you remain aware of it at all times and play accordingly. i really
its very possible to get triple mine blasted if he throws them at a creep wave that you're standing in the middle of. if your reflexes are good you can possible walk out of the blast area in time and maybe only get hit by 1 (or if you're lucky 0) of the mines. if you're alone though, its pretty easy to get out or just move in the correct direction. you can get out of a mine trap and only set off 1 of them if you move perpendicular to the line of the mines. </
good strategy in my opinion. they were running a classic ganking team, i've seen that exact setup used by ALOT of the better teams i've played against. its a burst damage oriented DG killing squad. i've seen it used to great effect by Stil Rey's team and by KoreaSlayer's team. i'm sure plenty of others use it as well. they probably chose to focus on you in particular because Oak is known to be weakest in the early game but can be hard to handle at later levels. th
